Hi all,

I am considering attaching a blower to my beast, and im just weighing up the different options out there....

I don't really want to use CAPA; they seem a bit too pricey...

Has anyone had much experience with Mark's Workshop in Perth? I am leaning towards a Vortech system with a Tweecer tune. Has anyone fitted a Kenne Bell Positive Displacement blower? They seem rare over here in Aus to get a hold of.....

What do you think i'd be looking at price wise if i was to have Mark install a kit to mine (EL/AU equivalent parts)

Cheers

My charger was installed by MWS. They do a good job, but you get what you pay for as well.

They have a good reputation. With that rep comes a price, so don't expect it to be cheap. I would expect approx an $8k bill installed with a base kit. The price will go up from there dependng on what else you add on (intercoolers, water injection etc.), and how much custom work is required to make it fit in the XF.

Most of the places that do the Vortech installs get the CAPA kits anyway don't they?

I'm pretty sure Terry Batten has a Kenne Bell on his ED 347. Don't know much more about it than that as well.

Maybe so, but he is looking at it for a Widsor, not a Boss.

BPT do the kenne bell kit installed for around 10-12k depending on how much power- injectors and so forth.

Full boost at 1500 rpm and that hypnotic whine! I have seen their blown 347 on a dyno run and it was a beast.

Yep. That's Terry's one. It's had a touch more than 12k spent on it though. Tiz very tidy.

Sweet....

Thanks for the replies. I know that ED you are speaking of from BPT. One hell of a weapon!

I may be going for a Vortech, as i dont wanna spend over 8k - even that is a fair bit! (motor will be worth 100x more than my XF)

I wonder if its trying to import a kit from the states, then just have the bracket made up to fit on the Aussie windsor?

Don't bother with getting stuff from the states. There's not a great deal you can use out of their kits.
Try and find yourself a blower over here, and then organise the brackets, pulleys, etc.
