I'm thinkin about buying the snort performance Supercharger kit
I have this plan to get 500cc injectors, wolf 3D V4 ems, pacemaker headers, ACL headgasket, intercooler kit do you recon im taking the right approch for this sort of mod? |

yes but you might want to also look into stronger internals. Conrods, pistons, Hi-flow head, maybe bore the block out a bit?

yeh i was thinking about doin that further down the track
a set of ACL forged pistons, might leave the rods standard or get em shot peened and linished, and get the crank balanced. For the head jim mock has a $1500 low compression head work with stainless steel valves and springs. then i'll b runnin 20psi booyah |

edited- i should read properly.
Can the superchargers be boosted to 20psi and still be efficient? |

The Vortech's will run to a max 20 PSI, don't know how efficiently they run at that though.
I can imagine they would still be fairly efficient, but there would have to be a bit more heat generated at the RPM the impeller will be spinning. I would definately be doing a fair bit of internal work to be running 20 PSI! |

20 Lb would be over 500 rwhp or its hould be...
IMO keep it conservative like 280 to 320 rwkw.. Any more than that on street tyres is dangerous!! Pluss you'll be breaking every transmission you can throw at it... Whatpower are you after before thinking boost levels...A blown engine makes a s**t load of torque so even 250 rwkw would have 3 times the torque as it would n/a....

i was just muckin round i'd recon i would run bout 8psi on stock interals
then up the boost a bit if i did rebuild the bottom end say bout 12psi or so |

can u run a supercharger on 8psi without have to change any of the internals and how long for.... how long will it take to screw something in the motor

I assume you still have the XR6??
I'd have thought you would be better off just going with a turbo. There are plenty that have been done, and work a lot better with the 6 than a centrifical would. If you are going for a twin screw tye one, that is a different kettle of fish.

That's what I just did. I've been tossing around the forced induction idea for about 6 months. Supercharger vs turbo charger. I have no idea what I'm doing and expect to make mistakes so am starting off small. I just got off the phone with Geoff Carter(nice guy) from Snort Performance and ordered a stage 2 kit. $2500 to start me out. I pick it up next Tuesday. It comes with pretty much everything that the stage three kit does except it uses a KKK 450r and log style manifold. But for $2500 who could say no. I was looking at around $5000 for a supercharger setup. |
