Supercharging is a fairly expensive option. You can look at a Powerdyne setup which will cost you $6k complete with every part, or the Vortech's for $7k+. Turbo is a far better option IMO, a simple turbo setup could be done for around $2k or you could go for a high powered setup and pay $10k+.

check out capa.com.au
but supercharging seems to be a more expensive route than turboing the I6's. e.g. Snort Performance Stage 2 kit (there base model one) is $2499 compared to $ 6,319.00 for the Capa kit, Capa kit's probably better quality and the Snort one doesn't include everything, but nothing the almost 4g's saved couldn't fix! Or you could even move up to Stage 4 Snort for $3,500. (snortperformance.com) |

You will always pay more for a complete package deal. If you want to do the work yourself a turbo setup can be done fairly cheaply.

If you want a cheap a** SC or turbo setup that will give you trouble and generally be a waste of money then yes, $4000 for a SC setup and $2000 for a turbo setup.
Now, in reality, if you want a real setup making real power and not have you off the road (or talking to police/EPA) then start looking at $10K and heading up. Why so much? Well, considering just a good turbo and manifold alone will cost you $3000 or so, then add all the extra's like headwork, FI cam, dished pistons, intercooler and piping, ECU, injectors, tuning and anything else I've forgotten... it all adds up very quickly. |

Turbo prices you hear from are usually just turbo and manifold..Then there's ecu $2500 then fitting and tuneing..Then intercooler and cold pipeing....Then oil return, hole in sump.Oil supply..Bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump..Then iff you have exterrnal wastegate there fabrication needed to set it up..Then labour on top of that...Latter model motors need to lower comp also..Yes $7 to $8500..To have 250+ rwkw...But it will be safe with good tune...
