yes it may be a stupid idea, but i think it just might work... and im gunna cheat a little.

i figure right... a little 76mmx75mm 12vdc blower fan for PCs up the front of the car sucking in the air.... connect a small peice of tubing from the fan output directly into the carburetor.... and voila, forced induction.

run the fan off the main battery pack, and put a microswitch on the throttle/brake servo so when its about 1/2 way open... the switch closes, fan starts and then we get some mini boost lol

what do all you turbo guys reckon? would it be a bit of fun or what?

 awesome!
that would be so cool

im gearing my rc car up for drag racing so anything to make it go harder im lookin into, so that includes s**t like forced induction, locked diffs and n20 :D

and fritzz... after thinkin about it again, i doubt the engine would suck in more than 9.5cfm at full throttle. this is the blower i was thinkin of using -
76mm x 75mm - 12vdc @ 200mA - 9.5cfm (.27 m3/min) - 2700rpm

dude my engine revs to over 35000rpm thats sucking in some serious amount of air for a we little engine

i do not think that elec fan will do the job

dotn bother with n2o

for drags change your gearing and add some bigger tyres to the rear so it accelerates hard

lol, that stuff is crap, firstly you have no reliable way of controlling the fuel system, which kinda kills both those ideas before you even start, the pressure fed tanks on Rc's are bad at the best of times.

If you are serious about creating a drag car then you would just get some special fuel made with a really high nitro content(95%), and shim the head to suit.

You will need to use special "aircraft quality oil" at about a 10-12%mix, with high nitro the normal oils used will break down. I think its called Ucon ? turbine oil.

Most hobby shops tell you its not possible but it is, and per displacement no other car will touch it.

Don't bother, it won't work. If it can flow enough air, it still won't be able to pressurise it under the piston.

what wont work? the computer fan?
