Im looking at doing some power upgrades to my EB 5.0

Atmo it is 100% stock has only 189000kms.

I want to get the best bang for buck i can. So at first i was thinking Upgrade that heads (gt40p's), full exhaust, and upgrade intake (explorer). With a tune i think around 160-180rwkw is manageable.

Then i seen a vid on youtube of a green supercharged ED, and the whine this thing was making almost made me shoot a load. It was really angry sounding.

So what power could i expect if i was to leave the engine all stock and just bolt the charger and give it a tune. I fugure since the air will now be forced into the engine, the flow of the head wont matter as much???

Would the stock E7 and HO manifold cope with the supercharger?? Is the question i ask??

Yup.

That EL XR8 has stock series 1 motor, so HO manifold and E7 heads.
Vortech V1 S-Trim, wolf 3d v4, ebay cooler with s**t 2.5" piping.
Was running about 4psi at the manifold in those videos.
Now up around 7-8 making about 240rwkw.

Between 220-240 rwkw is about the limits of the stock cam and E7 heads.

Im running E7's and stock cam and rockers and im just about on the limit of them, power starts tapering off at 4800, even though it has an extra PSI at 5500.

I have seen a AU with a blower cam and vortech running over 400rwhp, I'd be looking to swap over the heads and rocker gear.

I made 228 rwkw with my set up running around 8.5 psi, gotta get it back to the dyno soon to check AFR's as it wasnt getting WOT completely.

The raptors seem to be pretty reliable so far though there is nothing off the shelf for the 5.0L so if your good with tools, you should be able to save a bit of dough.

Can you buy a kit for the EB windsor, or can you only buy the compressor and do the rest yourself.

Not with the raptor yet. You'd have to buy the compressor and do up the rest.

http://www.capa.com.au/kits_ford_au_v8.htm

At nearly 8 grand for a kit for the vortech and over 6 grand for the Powerdyne, the raptor blower is only 2500. Add a few weekends and maybe a grands worth in materials for piping and a few parts, another grand for a decent tune and you should have a pretty tidy power gain for under 5 grand.

The Raptor R looks good if you are building up a toughish motor.

http://www.capa.com.au/prices_vortech.htm

A V2 SQ is $2941 as well, has a lot more in it boost wise, Some of em are sealed too so no mucking around with oil lines.

My EF XR8 just has a blower, extracors & exhaust. I made 297rwhp, and pulled a 13.5 quarter mile.

Here is a vid of it.

I think 260RWKW on that set up is a bit optimistic.
