has any body heared much on supercharging the i6 falcon or done it or seen it im lookin at ebay its very cheap to supercharge ur holden but nothing for fords doese any one now if they fit on the falcons
the reason i want supercharger nto turbo its normally cheaper and very good in the take of and i love the whining sound they make cheers fellas

and anyway dude just looked at it all again ur 17! ppl used to call me a spoilt C*** for gettin around in a clean ebII fairmont with hardly no mods for 2 years. im nearly 21 now n only just gettin in forced induction learn how to drive before ya even think of charging ur beast lol

www.raptorsc.com.au They do the kits. If you want to start from a bitser it will be fustrating, expensive and time consuming. Like others have said a turbo is a better way to get the oomph for a better and cheaper price. Either way they'll both hold their own against a stockish v8.

On AFF in the au falcon section they are having a group but on raptor blower kits, to suit ef- au at around $4800.
Thats about as cheap as it gets for blowers.

Electric 'superchargers' are also s**t.
There is no 'very cheap' supercharging, unless its like a conversion from the other holdens, but that only made like an extra 10kw for them anyway. |

just curious... would you get the similar power increase from a turbo to a blower if they were both at say 9psi... only other effecting things i can think off are
turbo - hotter engine bay - slight exhaust restriction - no strain on belts ??? blower - cooler engine bay - no exhaust strain - slight belt strain ??? my view of this is the blower would be better for reliability v turbo quicker cheaper but not to good for engine...?

been read in few threads and it seems the turbo is more bolt on and go compared to belts slipping etc and less bearings to go... would the charger and turbo have the same strain on acc.. that run of the belt... eg. Air Con and power steering

I don't know about the I6 setup, but on my v8 it runs a seperate 8 rib belt for the blower off the crank pulley. It also utilises the power steering pump (with a longer snout pulley) to get more wrap around the blower pulley.

I have put together my own supercharger system and there are no issues with belt slip, and bearings there are only 4 of them so theres less drag.
The raptor v blower is very efficient and has performed quite well for me so far and there are no reliability issues with these units It may be fiddly to find ALL of the bits and pieces but it aint expensive, only time consuming. Unless you are going to make your own brackets and stuff it will cost to much to pay CRAPPA. Brad |
