just wondering. is an aftermarket ECU needed for a setup running around 8-9 psi? just looking at one of those powerdyne kits but theres no info about the ECU? cheers

Powerdyne will most likely provide 6psi, 9psi tends to over rev the unit.
If you're looking at capa kits, they used to come with a chip for tuning - not sure what they doing these days.

Having a better aftermarket ECU would normally always benefit you....with te 9PSI mark u are wanting to acheive what sorta of power figure are you expecting at that level ?

yea i read that 9psi is the absolute max a powerdyne would run. but thats wat the capa stage 2 kit is. its a 9psi powerdyne. makes like 240kw at flywheel from standard 157.

Irun my Vortech up to about 10-11psi on the standard ECU. It has been piggybacked though.
Aftermarket will always treat your car better, but depends on what you can afford.

im only lookin at around the 180 mark and am thinking of just getting a chip to help the standard ECU out.
