KKK are good !!! European turbo's..Usually big like Holset....The To4Z is a 800 h.p turbo..
This one is designed for XR6T so tops for sohc 4.0.. This one has .84 AR turbine so low rpm would be good, make good flow at low boost & rpm ... http://www.gcg.com.au/Catalogue_Menus/G ... b_t04z.htm

Easilly big enough. But on a stock motor you won't get 250rwkW unless you run some stupid amount of boost (15psi+). With a few head mods then 250rwkW is a snack with these turbos.
Also with the snort kits can you just bolt a garret T4 later on or do you have to do a bit of modifying? |

i think they just go strait on
Ive had some head work one guy is running 9 psi with a stgg 4 snort and making 290rwks, std motor.

Yeah the KKKs are good qual, seton500 is having his tuned soon so we will see what the KKK can do.... should be as good as a similar sized Garrett

To4's come in many different sizes...The one on Michaels first attempt wouldn't go over 212 rwkw I'd say compressor side was alittle small, it would heat up on dyno...
The part you have to consider on bigg-sh engines is the flow through exhaust housing!! And thats not nessessary by looking at AR..Sure some small-sh turbo's can make a given power level.. But if the engine is BIG and lazzy [some will say like me?] The exhaust housing needs to be big enough just to flow let alone make power [Most will say deffinately me?? Lol]..The example is my engine ..Those original T3's on there own can flow 450 h.p BUT that won't work on a 5.4 V8 even with two of them, as there rear housing or turbine wheels are too small...Yes they will make 450 h.p BUT on a healthy well tuned 2 ltr where exhaust flow doesn't increase as much..Its all precentages from compressor side to exhaust.. Here's a GCG pic etc of same sized hi flowed turbo's I had.. http://www.gcg.com.au/Catalogue_Menus/U ... e_gtst.htm Thats why even Ford fitted a 650+ h.p turbo on the XR6T even though there output is way under that...Checking flow maps helps so you get the turbo to work right in the sweet spot... Check the Lb per minute each turbo will flow also to give you an idea..

yep, air flow through the head is very important... even the old 13b rotory turbo had a very big exhaust housing as rotories pump massive air

Talk to Michael at GCG they have some big turbines but there AR is .84 with .7 fronts that can make up to 800 h.p but will spool rather low rpm..There wheels inside are acually bigger than the Gt35/40's...The good part with this set uo is plenty air flow at low boost..So good street manners... I hope so we bought one for the XR6... Ahh it's the T04Z Here it is..The exact one in pic... http://www.gcg.com.au/Catalogue_Menus/G ... b_t04z.htm http://www.gcg.com.au/Catalogue_Menus/G ... b_t04z.htm is a good choice for about 250rwkw, for a street car???

hey for an ea what would u need to do to it to be able to install a stage 2 kit? would u just need a new fuel pump like a walbro or something? change the ingition timing a little as well? and also would i need a new computer to run it?

you could just get away with a std ecu, but its not goin to be running too great and the a/f is up s**t creek. a 2:1 rising reg should be the go. Timinh you cant do too much with.
can be done, has been done but i wouldnt do it.

keeping the stock ignition system is still good for low 200wkws, just retarded a bit.
If the budgets tight, look around for a used fuel only ecu or micro fueler |

why wouldnt u touch the timing? all u need is a timing light and to move the dizzy around to the right place. i couldnt do it but my dads a mechanic and we done it when we rebuilt my brothers car. haha by the way my brothers car is a SVO as well, Ea SVO, cheers
