yes, thats fairly impressive, one thing i have never done is a run down the 1/4, will do when AIR reopens, if it ever does...

i think with all the work i had to it NA that i may have done a mid to high 14, and i spent a fair lump of cash on it

{USERNAME} wrote:
Cam had 272 duration and enough lift to bind the springs.

how much lift roughly, i had to choose my springs fairly carefully, cos im dealing with .576" lift in mine, the thing to keep in mind for anyone else trying this, is to not let over-nose pressures get too high.. this is harder when your trying to start with about 125-130lb seat pressure in a boosted application

{USERNAME} wrote:
Although that cam sheet above isn't all there i can tell that it's pretty extreme for turbo application and would be suited to circuit racing more than anything.

lol, yes, i deliberately took small snippets from the sheet, since i was waiting to hear xcabbi's response to just how big he thought my cam was, and what his idea of too much overlap is...

Probably wouldn't be a real good cam for fuel economy and general street use (towing a boat) but i'm guessing you don't chuck a turbo on your car if your interests are with fuel economy.

damn right, if your modding your car for 500+ hp with a turbo, and you are worried about fuel economy then you should seriously reconsider things...

well, it seems we have similar views of a lot of things, and can get along in a civilised manner

The lift was around there somewhere and yeah, plenty of stress on those poor standard rocker arms when used with stiffer springs. It's all water under the bridge dude, i don't hold grudges.

well, ive now bumped the boost up to 16psi... all going sweet as, except the gearbox noise.. lol

im quite impressed with the box actually, since it became noisy, it hasnt got any worse, and is still working nicely, i had 5 people in the car sat night and if it was gonna break, that was the time to do it... it spools up and peaks round to revlimit wheelspin in 2nd with a full car load, i did a few 2nd 3rd 4th runs and it held in there, i thought the extra load from a car load of people would have popped it

anyway, i ran my new tune, did some datalogs to check how the mixtures were going, was going lean over 5k rpm, so i did some changes there, now its running 16psi no problems at all

oh, btw, ive reached the limit of my 580cc injectors, about 340-350rwkw.. they were maxxed out on the dyno at 328kw on 14lb at 5800rpm, we have since tried richening it over 5000rpm, only to find, we cant make it any richer... it pulls back to 12.5:1 at 5800, so ive lowered my limiter to 5500 until i get some bigger squirters

im going to buy the 72lb, 766cc siemens, same as my current ones, just the next size up

and also, we have pulled a ton of fuel out the mid range rpm, from 2800-4500, and it is a hellava lot stronger in this area now, last nite while testing i found it wheelspins in 3rd gear at about 130-140...

the overly rich mixture explains how lumpy my dyno was, it has gotten a lot smoother now, also, i have been fine tuning my injector trims to counteract airflow differences in my plenum, im up to 110% #1 106.5% #2 104% #3 100% #4 100% #5 98% #6.... i just regularly check the spark plugs for burn comparison

very intersting to see what the dyno results will be.

Could you also post the torque figure? Might have a "stump puller" as a 2nd job. hehe

not 100% sure, rwnm dont relly mean much to me... although, you could calculate it at the flywheel since we know rpm and hp

see what 5800rpm and 550hp calculates back to in ftlb

equation goes something like hp=(tqxrpm)/5252

BTW, shouldnt 580cc injectors be enough for nearly 700hp? You sure you havnt got fuel problems elsewhere?

nope, with a bsfc of .90 or whatever the average N/A engine is, these calculate out to an absolute maximum of 650hp at 55psi fuel pressure, with a bsfc of about .5 as the average turbo engine, they are only realistically capable of 542hp....

and, what a major coincidence im making in the 550-560hp range... hence why im leaning out..

i was under the impression they would be plenty big enough, but didnt factor in the different bsfc of the turbo...

also, i thouroughyl flow tested my delivery system a long time ago while i was builiding it, it had 4l/min return flow on 65psi pressure, at 550hp i will be burning a max of about 2.8l/min... so i have enough pump flow for a lot of hp, that flows closer to the 700hp that they rate the 044 at

sad thing is fritzz, i calculate your ford motorsport injectors to be maxxed out at 255rwkw.... and i think you want more than that...

what are you up to with your machine?? been on the dyno lately

yeh i put a little more boost in it 13.2psi (was 12.7) before and found my injectors getting to 99% duty so, i recon u should by 72lbs and sell me your 55lb injectors wat u recon???

i found a lsm11 oxy senser real cheap, so i have hooked that direct into the sm4 so i can ceep an eye of the a/f's. and i know that the lsm11 isnt the most acurate sensor but atlest i gett an idea.

i have just orderd a turbo cam of jmm, i herd they work realy well. also got springs and ajustable gear.

should be getting a t04z soon aswell. im gonna thake some holidays of work to gett all this stuff in then take it bak up to hyperdrive gett it tuned then head to the drags and see wat happens.
