uncanilly strong... lol...

last year i removed the 1-2 synchro hub from the mainshaft, as i wanted to get a new one since mine was damaged..

i called a gearbox place, they said, tell me you havent removed that hub?? im like no, they said, good, cos if you remove that the you need a new $1200 mainshaft, that part is hydrogen brazed on... and non removable... so i went home that night and pressed it back on with some loctite bearing retainer.. hasnt caused any dramas since

yes, but A.I.R wont be open any time soon i dont think.. problems with timing equipment, and track surface, and bob jane wont spend any money on it, and the guy that owns city dismantlers wants to buy it.. if he does, the plans are to rebuild it all, and have the track running in the opposite direction, currently drive directly into the sun on sunset so have to close the track for an hour or so

another t5... the problem is every option is upwards of $2200, which i cant afford, and dont really want to be spending any more money on my car. would like a 6 speed tremec but cant afford it

i am in the process of taking it out now, will be interesting to see the damage, i have the complete internals from another box that i may be able to make one good box out of two

big trouble in little china.... lol.

oh well, ive now rebuilt my box with a mix and match of internals, got a complete set of internals from my mates ef xr6, which split the ext housing and lost oil, it had a missing spacer from the mailnshaft between the input and mainshaft. so i had to use my mainshaft, remove all gears from both shafts, put his gears on my main, since it is slightly different ratios i had to use all his gears, used his countershaft, one or two of my bearings, one or two of his bearings, one of two of my synchros, a couple of his..... haha, be going again tomorrow nite probably

If I remember rightly 'tickford_6' was talking about organising a group buy of a straight cut synchro gear set (can't remember who from) a while back, but there wasn't enough interest.

edit: Found the thread.
Was for a limited run a*** from PPG.

ummm, if it was PPG it would cost its weight in gold

have you seen PPG prices?? theyre saloon car spec a*** cost $3800 according to there website, the g-force a***, in helical synchro costs roughly $1550 by the time you freight it here....

id have to get a different clutch plate, or just get a different spline fitted to it, im trying to confirm with them the input shaft length and spigot diameter...
