box is in, fits bloody perfectly, now just gotta get a tailshaft made, finish machining the speedo setup, and make a shifter that i like....

i had the plate cnc machined, it turned out a pretty trick looking bit of alloy.. my boss owns a cnc so it makes life easier

spoke to hardy spicer last week, got the details of what measurements they needed for making my custom shaft... had a quick trip home on the weekend, measured it up, and will hopefully be able to have the new unit made within the next couple of weeks..

would the W55 or 57 box bolt in exactly where yours has? wouldnt that have been a cheaper option they seem to be running behind quite a few 10 and 9 sec rotaries that i know of and that wheelstand with that box..? just interested as i want a stronger manual but dont want to pay 2g just for the box might as well get a t56 or gertrag :D

the conversion would be very similar... i did a lot of research and found everyone rates the r154 as a lot stronger than w55-57, so instead of risking it i went with that. The toyota box is untested in the falcon as far as i know, i was unable to find any evidence of anyone else ever doing this conversion, although, i think dellow may make a kit to do it????

if anyone is keen to try a w55 or 57 box, then im keen to see the results.... does anyone know anyone who has????

i think im going to give it a shot. my t5 is rooted again and the turbo isnt even on yet. i can get a w55 for a few hundred.. a guy i know runs one as i said before so im gonna pick one up. he seems to think they will be bulletproof and for a lot less money. might even be pretty much the same conversion as your own. but the first thing im doing is setting up a hydraulic clutch im sick of this cable its in the way of everything and breaks s**t all the time.

last nite was the first time i had driven my car since new years eve, and i bloody enjoyed it, although it wasnt registred and i had only about 5mins of test driving... one issue is the spigot bearing has moved out of position, i think i did that when installing the box, the part that i made up to hold it wasnt as tight on the bearing as i would have liked, and i think it has come back to bite me..

oh well, the conversion has been a complete sucess, im very happy with the clutch, and i just gotta rip the box back out and fit a new part, then itll be back in action

nice work with the box these falcons need an easy gearbox alternative. any new vids of it going now it has a reliable drivetrain? and when is the next higher boost dyno run going to be.. considering the T5 was the weakest link.

i spoke to a few people and i can get a W55 for 275 so im gonna go with that.. exactly how is your clutch setup are you still running the cable? im toying with the idea of running the slave inside the box like BA manuals.. they have a few troubles but i think it will be easier to setup.
