Quick question, How did your score a unichip plus the rest of this stuff for under $1200. im looking for either a piggie back ecu or a new unit and i haven't been able to find anything for under $1000!

Of course you can turbo it for under $2000. Question is will it be reliable, and actually make power?
If you buy all your gear 2nd hand and can get all the work done for you for free or diy, then it wont cost too much.

I made that much hp on a standard EEC-IV and stadard cam! Not sure what you're laughing at?
I certainly didn't do it for under $2000 but that's not to say it can't be done.

Henry, if you plan to use a piggy back thing for "engine management" you will still be limited by the stock MAP sensor as 67RCE said. That means you will need a different wastegate spring for 8psi and a boost controller to get the boost to 10psi on the dot. Standard MAP will crack up at 11psi and you will get about 0.5psi of boost spike, that puts you at 10.5psi max.

If you set it up like this you could probably make the power you're looking for providing the turbo is big enough and your other components are good enough to support such a venture. Other wise 300rwhp is fairly easily attainable.

that bonnet pod venture is brave... I wouldnt have the guts to cut my bonnet up and stick a pod out of it.

Im honestly keen to see the results of this, Bargain turbo cars seem to be the go at the moment, though 340 hp is achievable, though how reliable is the question.

Good luck.

pod out of bonnet, $300 of port work and full 3" exhaust got me 198hp atw and its responsive as hell, :D

yeah changed my mind from 16 psi to 10 psi after reading posts

not worrried bout reliability as im on third motor second gear box and third diff in 4 years, ef/el parts are so cheap and available
