Welded with a small arc welder cranked up to the max... Its the first thing Ive welded so the welds are rather dodgy but hopefully they will hold and be air tight.
Hopefullu this will do the job for awhile |

Ive finished 90% of the intercooler pipes and the cooler mounted and front airdam has being modded to fit the cooler nicely. Im still to do the last bend of pipe to the turbo comp housing but I cant do that until Im 100% certain of where the comp housing will sit... should have the turbo mounted on moday arvo as I did a numnut mistake and had the turbo flange welded on 90deg the wrong way! Will fix that monday and it should be mounted up.
I had a dummy fit of the turbo and it looks dam awesome sitting there... oh I love big turbos Here I have painted the lower section that is visable through the spoiler... I dont want a cooler sticking out the front like dogs balls |

I like this approach of sleeper. It'll be an awesome EA when its complete.

yeah Im getting it all sorted on this car and will run some quarters then once Im fairly happy with the power level Im looking for I'll put the set up into an EF ghia. I'd rather drive a fast car that blends in with the others rather than looking like a boyracer... and its a bit of suprise element |

so once the turbo is all in and water lines and oil lines and all that stuff done. (the stuff id be comfortable attempting) then what is happening with the timing and fuel side of things?

Hey dude nice job so far. A quick question. Have you tossed tha a/c? It sure looks that way. Im about to start a turbo project myself on the ED but I want to keep the a/c. And as there is no where else to mount an intercooler I was wondering what youve done. Cheers and I look forward to more pics.

Air con wise... yeah i took the radiator out but that was when I was going to rout the pipes under the head lights. So really you can leave all the aircon gear in there if you run the cooler pipes the same as i have done here.
Fuel/iggy... Ive got a v3 wolf I will use for fuel mapping and timing, its not able to run muluti coil so I will be sticking with the stock dizzy until I get a V4 later on. Fuel injectors are 550cc and fuel pump is a Walbro 255lb HF intank unit. What I will do first is put in the injectors and pump and see how the EEC handles boost. From reading zoom I gatther it will need a fuel remap to get 200kw@w on the standard timing (mechanically retarded) mapping. After this little experiment I will wire in the Wolf, do some start up and road tuning then take it to be dyno tuned and power run. Once the tune is sorted and i can safly run 1bar I will do some quarters at Easterncreek. |

Almost $4000 so not too bad. I shopped around and got some good bargains from around aust and the US, mainly via Ebay and a few forums but everything except the injectors were bought new.
I will do a break down of the prices at the end once I have added it all up |

Turbo is now mounted finally and all intercooler piping is finished. Ive fitted the braided oil feed line but still have to do the oil return line.
