Im toying with the notion of building a turbo engine for my ea, Would anyone have any recommendations of where i could get a manifold and some other bits made? And for a reasonable price? If i decide to do this i will be building the engine myself, i know hp comes at a price but i dont want to spend a fortune, anyone also have any advice on pistons, decomp plate, anything thats a good combo, computer, problems you ran into, anything that might help me decide whether its a na with nos or a turbo motor.....
Cheers

the manifolds come up every now and again on ebay, sometimes they go for alot of $$$ tho (ask waggin about that hehe) otherwise you could prob get one made up. the expesive bit are really gonna be the turbo obviously, but the computer and injectors will set u back a fair bit as well.

Felony, what parts are you after, I'll be able to get you a manifold, but it depends on what you want? What turbo you will be running, internal or external waste gate? I know a guy who makes up full kits, or will sell just the manifolds if you want..
I've been told that the decomp plates are nothing but trouble, you would be better of getting the head dished out abit to lower the compression if you were going to take it off. Apparently the ED pistons are the best things to run apart from forged pistons, they have a dished top, so with some head work and ED pistons you are supposed to get the compression down to about 8.2.
After spending around $4000 on a turbo setup, and driving a mates XR6 with $6500 spent on his NA engine I would with out a doubt go the Turbo, it has soooo much more power..

These parts would be a good starting point....a set of EA race series pistons ( get them dished to around 20-25cc), Race series bearings, JP high vol oil pump and rollmaster timing gears....that would be a nice bottom end. probably about $1000 worth of parts.

Evil, got a kit going at the moment,
Turbo manifold made from 4mm steam tubing, Garrett T40B, external waste gate, 12-1 Fuel pressure regulator, blow off valve, braded oil line and T piece which taps into the oil pressure sender, and dump pipe down to the CAT. You will need to get someone to either modify your CAT or get an after market one to attach to the dump pipe. All this can be yours for $2500.
Just keep in mind, if you want to be running 5psi or above you will need an intercooler. Also other things to consider, boost gauge, turbo timer, a few vacuum lines, intercooler piping, maybe upgrade to an larger exhaust, some time on a dyno to get the fueling right. With all that you should be able to run 8psi all day with no problems. I know a guy with the exact same setup on an EB who is running up to 10psi, and the only problems he is having is excusive tier wear.. :P

So with the vacuum lines do you have to re-route them to before the turbo or what? (so that they don't become boost lines LOL)
