I'd leave them on...It depends on tune and safe tune...Retarding spark at peak torque etc..Even though you loose power...[aftermarket ecu]
Same goes with T5 depends how you drive..But 270 rwkw and sensable driving I didn't have any issues...Just upspec clutch etc when time comes around...Don't fit ceramic clutch plate..They are too hard on box's etc... The turbo will make good power even with e7 heads..Valve springs could be an issue with boost / pressure behind them...With correct maf and injectors std eec can handle things quite well...

Sounds good! At least i wont have to do EVERYTHING at once, by the sounds of it.. Meaning that the turbo setup should be completed quicker then expected! Especially if i can run the setup with the standard ECU, heads and inlet for a while.. With the MAF & injectors though, what sizes would you recommend? Keeping in mind that i intend on upping boost/power down the track when engine/driveling is up to spec.. Hopefully i can purchase these as a set from Shane.. Along with fuel pump & reg. By the way, i have a single mandrel 3" exhaust on my car at the moment, will this be sufficient meantime? Cheers. |

if running a single turbo 3" should be fine for mild boost. Bigger pipe or maybe twin exhaust would help spool up tho, depends upon how restrictive it is, but with a turbo bigger exhaust is always better.

Atleast 36 Lb injectors and maf designed just for forced induction single is easier can use draw through...

As with nearly all Ford V8 exhaust manifolds they are symetrical.. As in the left manifold can go on the right bank and visa versa.... Therefore the manifolds can be mounted forward and weld on the turbo flanges with a Tig and away you go... I've done this setup on a 302W powered '69 Mustang for a friend with T3's and works great. Cost effective too. All you need to be fabricated is the dump pipes...

How much closer to the block can you get than the original cast manifolds?????
They hug the block closer than any tube manifold will. If you have some thats better then I'm seriously interested in seeing some pics...

And you think they are a tighter fit?????? Looks like theres more room there than what I had.
Cast doesn't crack if they're welded right. I'll post a pic tonite when I get home from work.

Some cast manifolds do crack, some dont... I'd expect it to crack on high boost where its temp is glowing hot, but if your under 1 bar it shouldnt get that hot. All depends on what pressure the air is under while flowing through the maniflod
