i was wondering how much work would have to go into puttin a t3 turbo on my xr6. its got extractors atm which is the only bad thing... it would only be doin about 6-10 psi, nothing too huge until i can get around to doing all the internals. also, what sort of power would it be pulling with this sort of set up when the original was 115.5rwkw... any help would be much appreciated. also, would i have to update the comp??

too small, dont go down this path, I did and was left to sell off my turbo gear.
Problems
-unless you have a huge external wastegate you wont be able to control the boost accurately, causeing tuning problems.
-the backpressure from a small turbo like that will melt exhaust manifolds
-the massive bottom end will make it hard to drive in the wet, this isnt a good thing though it mat seem fun.

You will make the same power with less boost if you get a bigger turbo, it will just mean that it comes onto boost a bit later (2000 rpm seems the norm for a medium sized turbo) but later boost is a good thing in many respects.

Do a search to answer the rest of your questions

you'll need all the normal parts, lower the compression prolly, manifold, 3 inch zorst, some sort of aftermarket ecu etc.

the most commonly used turbo is the gt3540, similar to that on the ba xr6t. or a large t4.
