it would be the usual turbo stuff.
i have a xflow250 turbo kit arriving at my house soon, i wont need the exhaust manifold, so you can have it cheap. you will need: - turbo - exhaust manifold - oil lines - intercooler & intercooler piping - bigger fuel pump (something around 255L/hour is good) - pod filter and air intake tubing - fuel regulator (12:1) - external wastegate (screamer pipe is optional. not really needed) - dump pipe if you are running around 8 to 9psi MAX, then you should be fine with stock internals. and you could get away with running a stock ECU with the 12:1 fuel regulator and the increased fuel pump you would need a 2.5" cat back exhaust system as a MINIMUM. you would need a heat shield for the pod. and heat shielding 'wrap' for the exhaust side of the engine bay. i reckon if you could get 2nd hand parts, or look around for cheap parts, then you could make it a $1500 job (providing you run stock ECU, internals, and that you install it yourself, because labour is pricey) |

Thats how would would turbo it if you didnt want it to last very long, it has been done many times before but really is the dodgy way out, to do things propery, scrap the 12:1 reg and look around for a aftermarket ecu, even a cheap second hand wolf v3 or v4 will be heaps better then nothing at all. Also upgrade the injectors, 42lb bosche injectors are cheap as chips on american ebay, i had a set delivered for $360 brand new. But otherwise all those parts are pretty much spot on. Remember with the added power it wont be log until you need driveline upgrading/ repairs. To try turbo a falcon for $1500 is just silly imho. Good luck with it though

No chance keeping the original ECU, you will never have it tuned properly, it's on going to run lean and melt your internals. Go on gas you won't need to do the whole ECU, depends what you wan't out of it.

Back in the day, When the XF was new, The STD engine was apparently good for 14lb. of boost. Injected motor with an intercooler.

I've got a factory AIT kit lying in the shed with a boat anchor turbo, They ran STD XF computer and airflow meter, with the throttle body and two 440cc injectors bolted to the inlet of the turbo, from the turbo, the air went into a top mounted intercooler that doubles as a pleneum chamber and then feeds into the STD inlet runners.
Auxillary injectors controlled by a microfueller. Would be cheaper to run it on straight gas with a GRA mixer, and have a dissy modified to run boost retard.
