Was asking myself the great question , turbo or not to turbo... just wanted a little feedback on the legalities of it all. Petrol turbo = big costs getting it legal , rite? How about DLPG turbo? what is required there?
Any upgrades i will need IE , Brakes or other safety related items?

getting legal = same price.
best to talk to an engineer to get 100% answers.
the laws are different in each state so it makes it hard to answer.

all i know is the emmisions test in NSW is free, and ur tuner would be able to tune the car to pass. then u need the engineers cert.
the engineer will decide what you need for it to be legal.

if its anything like vic, then it needs to be an 'approved' engineer.
but again, you'd have to ask the appropraite authorities about it.
a friend of mine was doing all the research to get his car engineered and legal and found the emmisions test was free in NSW where is its $1600 in victoria.

as i said, double check everything as it seems to vary depending on who you talk to, and i'm not from NSW, its simply what i've heard about NSW.
also talk to Chef about it, his is engineered so he might have some tips etc.
