Hey guys, I just won a turbo kit on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200812445919 ... 500wt_1203 and have a few questions for those of you that have turbo'd your e series.

1. How strong is the auto gearbox? any mods recommended for it?

2. Am i able to get away with just a cross over pipe if im only running 4 - 6 psi? or do i need an intercooler?

3. Will the stock fuel pump handle a variable rising rate fpr? when boost is around 4 - 6 psi?

4. where is the best place to get an oil feed from? can i get away with a sandwitch plate for the oil filter?

Thanks in advance guys :)

1. Auto will be fine with low boost providing its in good condition now.
2. People have done it but its a fairly easy power increase having an intercooler, I'd strongly recommend having one
3. No. Stock fuel pump will struggle can get walbro 255 l/hr pumps for under 150 dollars and there is how to install guides on this forum.
4.easiest way is with a t piece where your oil pressure sender goes under the inlet manifold

Cheers man, came up as a second chance offer, lucky for me the original bidder pulled out :) will be picking it up tomorrow morning. Will post a build thread once I've started

Yep it was cheap alright.

So what ECU or chip you going to use?

Man if it was me I would be intercooling it get ride of the dreaded heat and make a few KW's on the side.

We had this same sort of set up to start off with we ran 8lbs boost suing a Bosch 440 and serge tank external plus a Sard 1:1 adjustable fuel reg, 36lb Bosch injectors and a Wolf V500 ECU "Wolf have a plug in harness available for E-series Falcons", 3"system.

The guy who did the tuning was it was a bit of a prick to tune but we did end up getting 232rwkw.

I will get shot down and a new one torn for saying this ok but here goes in my view don't settle for a chip like the J3 as am example go for a quality ECU it will pay off in the long run.

One more thing the standard head gasket will fail sooner or later when it does go for a MLS-R 1.2mm head gasket. Get that compression down.

Anyway best of luck.

Looks like you got a nice bit of kit mate for a good price !

I'm setting up something like this pretty soon and will be running the compression housing to the TB. Down the track I will install an intercooler.

Will be very keen to see your build thread on this :D

Thanks for all the responses guys, have just swapped the bosch 040 that i had in my exa into the falcon, and have 3 more questions.

1. can anyone upload a pic of their exhaust manifold that has an external gate? as I havent dealt with external ones before, only internal ones haha

2. a pic of how a rising rate reg is hooked up on a fuel rail? I have a BEGI one, and its quite big and not sure if it would fit there haha

3. what power could i be expecting with a 10 psi spring in my wastegate?

Thanks again guys

If your going to use a Bosch pump you shouldn't need a rising rate reg a 1:1 will do the job better for example a Turbosmart 600 would be awesome.

10psi well maybe you should be looking at a around the 5 to 7psi boost first.

The log manifold you have I gather it has a access fitting for a external
wastegate???? if not you will need to have one added or run internal wastegate.

Remember a good quility ECU is the way to go.

I only have a variable rising reg, but think I can staticaly set the rate as low as 2:1 rate, only have 10 psi and 15psi spring in my waste gate, and yes the manifold does have a pipe off it for one. As for ecu, have a spare ms2 that I'm going to use
