hey guys just bought a turbo set up consisting of
T66 turbo manifold scremer pipe external gate turbosmart 48mm dump pipe exhaust rising rate fuel pressure reg intercooler and all piping 3 inch mandrell bend exhaust pressure actuater things i will need are wold v500 also was wondering what injectors are direct replacment for ef 4l what size would i need for up to 10psi what fuel pump is best to run as a in tank pump just to start with. what are the mesurements for the t peice at the oil pressure switch. only wanna run 8-9psi with stock internals while i build a bottom end for it. any help would be nice thanks guys.

Is this the one that was on eBay? If so, looks like you got yourself a good kit, good luck with it!
For fuel pump a walbro or bosch one will do you fine, you can pick up the walbro ones for around $170ish and bosch ones for over $200 can't remember exactly how much. 10psi with that setup should make some decent power i'd just buy some 550cc ones straight up so you won't have to change them later put them in when you get it tuned. I used to know the size of the t peice but i've forgotten i'll see if I can find out though, but your local autobarn will know what your talking about, when I got one I just walked in and told them what I wanted and they knew what I was talking about.

if your planning on building up wour bottom end and to go for more power in the future you might as well get 610cc Siemens injectors high impedance (people are asking $110 plus gst each, but i found a bloke on ebay that did them for $82.50 including gst). A walbro 320L/h intank pump or there a 330 i cant remember (you can get them for $150 delivered off ebay). I can measure my oil t-piece tonight if you want.
I was going to go a v500 but i was guided not to as not much testing has been done yet. also i bought a wolf 3d v4 with loom and handcontroller for $1000. Hot tip you wont stop spending money. good luck!

I'd take a V500 over a V4 any day of the week.
Walbro = risky IMHO. Stick with the Bosch 044 or even a 984 if you're happy with 10 psi boost. Both can fit in-tank with some mods - ebs4l has an in-tank 044 FYI...(well when I last spoke with him which was a while ago now). Siemens seem to be good injectors nowadays - on par with Rochester and Bosch don't seem to do anything in the sorta range you'll be wanting *shrugs*. Wolf V4 may have issues with injector opening / closing times at light throttle...can be tuned around to some degree - V500 doesn't have that issue. Oh and V500 can take any impedence injectors - low / high etc...V4 you may need to use resistors in the injector looms if using low impedence injectors. As far as injectors - Siemens 60 or 72lb ? They are all very similarly priced when you get these larger sizes. I also reckon standard bottom ends are tough - with a good tune and slightly lower comp, you'd be good for making mid 200's no problem ! |

jusr bought DELPI 550cc injectors for 65each
and a borgg 265l/hour pump for 130 will be running a rising rate fuel reg and only 7psi to begin with as this is the minimum boost pressure for my turbosmart pro gate 48mm waste gate. not sure how this will cope with more psi later on tho. any thoughts hoping it will cope with maybe 14 psi. if not my back pocket will be a bit lighter

The walbro pumps are o/k...
Especially the intank...

I was running an external Bosch 984 which was fine running in-line with the factory lift pump...good for mid 200s or thereabouts.
Obviously the appeal with the Walbro is the in-tank neatness over running one externally etc. Also bear in mind the Denso in-tank pumps that were made for the Cosmo 20B triple rotors...apparently flow very similar to Bosch 044 and can be fitted in-tank with no problems....300 + rwkw @ 35 psi base idle fuel pressure...it still keeps up. {USERNAME} wrote: The walbro pumps are o/k...
Especially the intank... I am sure they're ok...just me (personally), I'd want more than just 'ok' when running a turbo Graeme |

265lph is heaps should be good for around 600hp.
dont use a rising rate reg. just leave the stock one, they are fine.

Ah ok, so it comes down to dollars then - gotcha ! The reason I am making a point of this is because I have gone through all sorts of hardware (trial and error!) and am stating what I have learned from it all. Have used the following hardware... Fuel pumps : Bosch 070 - too small Bosch 984 imitation - poor quality / inconsistent fuel pressures Bosch 984 - genuine, but too small for application at this time. Flowed fine though Fuel regulators : SX Reg - 1:1...excellent and what I am using now. Sard 1.7:1 - Not bad, but not 1:1. Injectors : Bosch 21lb - too small...good that they're high impedence for plug and play operation though. Bosch 30lb - Genuine Ford Motorsport...excellent injector - one of the best IMHO. Only upgraded because they ended up being too small in the end. Racetronix 48lb - bought from some ratbag (Mattri) on AFF (long story!) - ended up being too small again. Were low impedence - so meant wiring changes to make them work. Siemens 55lb - Excellent injector - obviously low impedence, but excellent injector. Would like to have gone to a 60lb, but they're only available in the wide spray pattern to suit multi valve inlet like BAs etc. Siemens 90lb - Currently what I am using...excellent injector - suit single valve inlet application. The point of all this ? Don't base everything purely on money - consider the fact that you often get what you pay for. At what flow rate does the Walbro rival the 044 ? I'd like to know what base idle fuel pressure is on both units to achieve same flow rates. |

Out of interest what fuel pump are you running now?
