I am looking for ANY pictures/ideas/advice to help me get this project underway.
i have been told single turbo is alot of mucking around with plumbing pipes so twin turbo set up it is. what size turbos? ive been told twin t03's. engine build before hand? cam? manifold designs? i just need anything because i cannot find much info at all. best i could find was an el xr8 twin turbo running t03's (FORCD8) but no pictures. cheers

Mate the cost is going to be insane, and infact would be harder to do than a single turbo.
In saying that has been done before. Better have deep pockets mate coz any turbo setup ain't cheap |

thats what i need to establish. i need to see both single and twin setups to decide where to start. pockets are deep enough, and i would prefer to do a big single but like i said i need ideas

Hey,
Having done a complete DIY turbo EL motor in my 4WD, i would go for the single. Biggest problem with finding a good location, in that gravity doesn't tend to be that effective in returning oil back to the sump, so you will need a scavenge pump of some sort. Seems that alot of Commo drivers run a single on the left hand side, where there is a decent amount of room, same in EF/EL's. You might have to trim a bit out of the inner guard, but at least it would look better than a twin turbo abortion, with 11ty pipes going everywhere!!!! Deep enough pockets????? I'm free at Xmas..................... Daz

TT will work out better in the end, but you'll need to factor in an aftermarket block, unless you want to keep replacing split ones.

Will the weight of twin turbos on their manifolds tear the block apart?! Oh my! What power are you aiming for?

Mate, I noticed you're in Perth..
Call Tim Slako, at West Racing. He's in Osborne Park.. He has custom built many cars that should never be allowed on the street.. But they're always legal A VS GTS twin turbo, 1200hp, or 1500hp with NOS He's put V8 Supercar engines into a VX GTS then twin turbo'd it.. I think that was 800hp at 4000RPM early in development.. All sorts of mechanical mayhem. I'm sure he can give you the advice you need, and can fabricate all the manifolds you need too. He's also good at disguising mods to make the cops oblivious.. Superchargers, NOS heaters and activators at the push of a button.. A quick walk through his workshop and your in automotive heaven.. That'll be your best bet, if he hasn't done it, he'll know who has.. |

Keep power to 330 rwkw and you should be fine...
The V8's can use std EEC with boost with some mods .. Some seem to get away with just maf and injector change. With lower compression and alittle less initial timeing. Checkout junkyard turbos on http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?board=15.0 The Borge Warner S370 would spool nice.... Two T3 .63 A.R turbo's if using twins.. .
