Has anyone got a Varex electronic muffler installed or know of anyone with?
Looking at it, the idea of being able to go from stealth to full noise is appealing.
I do realise that whilst in silent it is basically strangling the motor and I'll only ever get max performance whilst in "race" mode. Also, do you think that silent mode will cause use of extra fuel due to me putting my foot flat to try for more go?
I seem to be talking myself out the idea...
Any comments or knowledge of the product would be great!

would not bother, you will find you leave the thing on open baffles anyways. Played round with them before, but was more for tuning for sound, race car on open pipes was about 120Db, had to get it under 95Db, was a mix of the varex adj exhaust system and installation of a mufffler. in the end we pulled the varex gear out causeit was not able to hold its position, but the open shut systems work ok.

yes you will use more fuel on closed baffles

Define
" not able to hold its position "

Why would you use more fuel with the baffles closed ?

went with a full 3" system
(dump pipe back) from APS, with a 4'' Cat from someone else, not sure, actually got it off a mate who has just gone to a full 4''. Fitted it up ourselves in the driveway, only cost me $800 in the end. bargain.
i should prob do up a build thread for this.... the ute is now making 430hp at the wheels!! love it. just bought a new camera with a phone on the back of it too, haha.
