just a question, what r the details of the high volume oil pump?? afaik theres no such thing avail for a 4l

Hi vol ???Yes they come in the ACL race series kit....
With 50 Lb base fuel pressure 36 Lb injectors can stretch to 300 rwkw...But if you are getting it tuned ?? Fit 60+ and be done with it...

That's a great looking engine. Who made your intake plenum, it's a fine piece of work and is that the stage 5 Snort kit? Won't need much PSI to make good figures from that setup. It'll flow very well. Good luck!

thanks mate, me and my old boy knocked the plenum up at home, same with the exhaust, but since we made the exhaust have now got a tig welder, so plans r to make an improved version with tig welded steampipe instead of the mig. The only part of the whole project that wasnt done at home was the porting/valve work, but i did the chambers myself.
the plan is to make some decent power with minimal boost, i just want to see 320rwkw and i'll be happy, hopefully wont need over 15psi. more pics, some of you may find them entertaining, i know when i was starting my project i was scouring books and the net for pictures and ideas on how others did stuff

... right now im flat out removing the old ecuwiring, wiring up the autronic, crane hi-6 and my wideband a/f meter all at once. i have
acl race pistons, ring brgs, 8.4:1 balanced rods, crank, pistons decked block, 20' over toque plate honed modified crankshaft oil galleries modified factory oil pump ported head, modified chambers, 50' o/s valves, 132lb seat pressure springs, std retainers and collets, stg3 crow cam which is carried over from N/A use.... test it to see how it goes. vernier cam gear, new chain n guides custom manifolds, ceramic coated ex manifold and turbine housing 600cc injectors from 6boost modified std dizzy (10mm top gun leads) SARD fuel reg 044 bosch pump, std size 5/16 fuel lines modified std fuel rail with twin entry (either end with retun in centre) gt3540 1.06 and .7 turbosmart 48mm wastegate turbosmart vee-port BOV 3in cooler piping, with 4in filter tube and 4in pipe on throttle body 90mm throttle EBAY 600x300x100mm cooler (bar n plate) thermal flex silicon cooler hose (stainless t-bolt clamps) modified accelerator pedal and cable ceramic button extreme clutch speedflow oil and coolant lines to turbo (-6 coolant -3oil) custom radiator header tank using a regular recvery type system with overflow bottle modified thermostat housing with a hilux top hose to allow clearance for the throttle body custom oil catch can battery in boot autronic SM4 with autotune (xf idle valve) crane HI-6 with LX-92 coil wideband A/F meter speco 20psi boost gauge and anything else ive forgotten...

Thats pretty good work!
I was making 308rwkw at 14psi with a similar setup in my AU, same turbo, custom cam, headwork except I had forgies and the stock intake manifold. You should reach your goals IMO. Good luck with it all! |

very good but the cam wont do u any good at all. my mate had nerly extact the same setup and the NA stage 3 crow cam didnt work. its almost if it runs out. the overlap is to great in a N/A cam. im not saying you carnt drive it. it will just have a very narow power band and wont produce maxium hp

ahhh, ok then, i was looking around for turbo cams and they didnt seem to be much off the stg3, what cam did he change too??
a lot of tuff turb cars seem to run fairly large cams, bigger than the stg3, considering its only got 210deg in and 200deg ex duration at 50' and advertised 268in and 260ex and 520' lift, no way i can see that being a problem, ive spoken to a couple of tuners that rekn it'd go well
