yeah true, dunno if you can do it but it would be good to controll when boost comes in and at what psi, like 6psi to 3000rpm and 3000rpm and up it would go to 8psi. Probly make getting off the line easier.

LOL i like having 15 psi at 3000rpm! How much boost you have at XXXXrpm can be determinded by your right foot, as it needs the exhaust flow to spool the turbo.. less throttle, less boost, easy!!

hmmmm i know this is a old thread but was looking at a xr6 turbo and wanted to know this question,

the car im looking at only has a front mount thats it, finding it a little weird that people saying they wont handle much stock, i have a mate who has a EL xr6 with a DOHC ba conversion and its running injectors and a tune and doing 297rwkw on 16psi and he thrashes it everyday and has done for last 3 years and still no probs so hard to tell what these motors are going to do,

have any of you actually cooked one to tell were their limits are?????

You mean mark? He barely drives it. Most of the time it's in safe keeping. Also it's a typhoon motor, if that makes any difference.

Thread mine go!

iirc, the xr turbo's originally were the same block & conrods as the gas motor? reason was they had reliablity concerns with potential back fires. This then allowed them to use the same block setup with a different set of valves (diff head I think as the cams & valve seats would be different?) Feel free to correct me anyone
