so far it has -

BA turbo rods
"race prep" head suited to high Kw turbo

jmm race series turbo cam.

the only other option is custom.

also i wouldn't be using stock ba turbo rods, i wouldn't trust them after around 300rwkw. get some after market ba rods.

What turbo you got and when do you want it to build boost. Plenty of off the shelf cams you can get and will make ok power but if you are going full house then custom cam is the only way.

$1000.

I paid $1170 in a group buy a few months back so we got them pretty cheap to begin with.

Dan, I cant believe you mate. When I was your age I used to do a bit of what your doing (switching and changing and i still do it a little) but I learnt very quickly to make a plan, and try to stick to it. Research first then buy last. I reckon that turbo ford you bought was the best thing and I would have just put on a bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, injectors and that would have been a hot car which would be up and running now.

Anyway Shums EL tell ya mate to get those rods cause full price is alot higher than the group buy price.

Priorities change. These rods are just going to sit in my room for a year if they don't sell.

The money can be better used at the moment.

im not sure i get what your point is here????

my point is that if you had been keeping an eye on preceedings you will have seen that dan has also opted to remove all the turbo gear from his project car, now he is selling his argo conrods, and i wanted to know why the sudden change of heart, as he was dead keen just a few short weeks ago....

do you have a problem with that?

Turbo cams don't require too much overlap...
Generally a wide lobe centre around 114 and 110 centreline with heaps of lift which means top quality springs...
To give you an idea my custom turbo V8 cam is
236 in @50 224 exh @50 - 560 valve lift.
Note less duration on exhaust ?? Its to prevent reversion..
115 lobe centre...
On a long stroke 6's cam, timing may be alittle less timing on inlet valve ??

I think maybe you should keep your far fetched ideas to your supercharger thread.

Removing the turbo gear was only temporary so I could bolt on a stock exhaust and drive it around without having to visit an exhaust shop first. Once it runs good and I know the ECU is up to it the turbo gear will go back on.

Selling the rods was to fix a temporary cash flow problem which I have sorted now so the rods can stay.
