Hi All, there is so much information about turbo falcons its just outright
confusing, i have recently aquired an ef with a few little extra bits and
peices, but i want to go turbo, and i have got someone to do the work for
me, wich is great but, i really have no idea whats what with a turbo and
such, was just wondering if i would be getting value for money if i went
for a snort kit, im looking for around 200rwkw (its already sitting at
140rwkw) so with there stage 2 kit, i assume it will bring it up around that
mark but not sure, the kit includes:

1 x full custom s/steel tuned length turbo manifold
1 x Garrett to4e turbocharger (rated over 500hp)
oil & water cooled bearing , twin internal wastegate!!
1 x super billet b.o.v
1 x boost reference fuel regulator
1 x front mount intercooler (core size 600x300x76)
3 inch s/steel merge dump pipe with o2 sensor bung
Teflon braided oil feed lines, vclamps, oil sender t
Teflon oil drain lines gaskets and fittings
3 inch pod filter
stage 2 kit with liquid/air intercooler kit $3499.00

Do you guys think i could do better for my money without going through
to much hassle? and what else would i need to buy that isnt included?
thanks alot for reading and any input will be appreciated, Tim

if you want a decent turbo setup ,which is realiable you will need at least $10,000 to do it right ,even more if other people are doing the work ,

10k is a bit on the rich side, mine on gas with MS ign, was under 3K, no problems, use a garret instead of the kkr I used, and you have reliability.

man these people would want to be doing a real fine job with those prices.
I don't know what good cats are worth, but i could build a 3.5" system with muffler for about 350$
Pretty sure microtech's are less than that EMS, either way a Megasquirt can be done for about 280-300$
Intake pipes, dang, 850$??? coating is expensive but still, take like 3 hours or less for a shop to make those, hell maybe <2 hours.
Catch can, could be that much if using speedflow fittings etc, but i reckon it wouldnt be proper seperator, just a can.
Battery relocation, theres about 25$ worth of plastic box, and 80$ worth of cable, and maybe 30 mins work.
Removal of sump, 650$, now some shops charge 700$ to remove and install an engine, so thats technically ok, but chances are the sump comes off with the engine only half way out, if that.
Turbo timer, and gauge yeah I can see that, some are 200$ each depending on what you use, but ebay 5$ gauges are good too, and they work, not like you need some expensive gauge when the fancy engine management is monitoring boost anyway.
Turbo timer-unecessary.

Now with all the prices they have charged already, they want 2K to remove the existing manifold, bolt the new one on, mount the turbo, etc?????This stuff ain't rocket science after all, nor is it physically hard at all.

I have a real problem with most shops, for the above reasons, and just because your paying more doesnt mean you'll get a good job, chances are the ones who are rude enough to charge that much, will be just as rude when they do a dodge job, and tell you its not their problem.

Money doesn't buy reliability.
