Either a third reflective type (baffle) of muffler or one really long absorbive type (straight through) muffler will do the job.

Thanks Troy. That's basically what I will be doing when I get my 3". Was there a restriction in flow from that combo or did it flow just as good?

no restriction, it was still straight through, just quieter..
