As the topic states .

What Km's on the Odometer have people seen on Stock XR6 Turbo's? And did they seem to still be running well?

The way I figure they could still be ok, maybe better nick then a fully modded and boosted one with low k's?

What tends to go on them?

I've seen a few 100k examples. Mostly BA's I and II. Weren't too bed for the 15 - 19k sticker price. Didn't drive any though. You could most certainly expect the diff clunk, steering groan and if your lucky the brake shudder will still be there too.
I ceretainly wouldnt take the gamble though.
Unless you know it was some old fella who didnt lend it out to his young hoon grandson.

One that hasn't been flashed for increased boost wouldn't be too bad as the engine wear would be minimal compared to one that has had the boost levels raised, regardless of whether it has been thrashed or babied.

If you could get a manual BA turbo for the right price I'd say go for it. Clutches are far cheaper than auto tranny rebuilds once they start to slip.

From my experiences the interior tends to turn to s**t much quicker than the mechanicals. but I drive a cab so I don't expect you'll find too many piss heads with kebab sauce and all sorts of weird s**t under their fingernails ruining the interior of an xr6T.

Mines got 92,000kms on it (BA Mk1 '04). It has been modded since about 55,000kms. the engine has always been serviced every ~5000kms with synthetic oil, and doesnt use any oil, but i have had my trans rebuilt once after i got the tune and other mods..

ive got an 03 turbo, 6 spd man (no its not factory obviously), currently with 110km on the clock. modded from 90. still pulling strong. doesnt use any oil or water. diff is fine. brakes are shot though.

spose it all comes down to how the cars been treated.

that is scary....I would hope a trans would last a lot longer than that!!!

wonder if the zf 6spds are longer lasting???

what goes wrong with the brakes on these? just rotors?

My mate has 117k on his BF II. Unfortunately he does not look after it very well and it still hammers.

old mans has 207,000kms.
did a turbo at 150,000, diff around the same time.
4 speed auto.
still goes good.

i've got 76,000km on my BFII F6 now too, just did front rotors/pads, other then that just kept it serviced, not a thing wrong with it.

not when you are pushing 50% more power/torque through it

Yeah the 4spd auto needed a rebuild after 3 weeks of having ~290rwkW shoved through it, it was slipping on the shifts and was suspected a Teflon oil seal let go. But after I got it strengthened/rebuilt 12 months ago I haven’t had an issue with the auto.

I have seen at auction an interstate security vechile, the kind that shadows/guards trucks on interstate runs, hope your sitting down, had almost 450,000km on it. auctioneer suggested it had been driven every day and every night since being bought, only stopping for fuel tyres and servicing. didn't drive it, but he assured me in his best auctioneers comforting nature that the car still drove like a rocket. it had to have been highway kays to, it was in like 2005 or 2006 that i saw it.

I wonder if they develop the typical falcon body and suspension slop at those kms. You'll know what I mean if you ever drive a high km and low km example back to back.

Alot depends on how its looked after just Klrs alone doesn't tell the full story..
XR6T's suspension is tighter than std Falcon's in there bushing etc..
Besides replacing shocks, bush's etc makes the car far better..
It's not like your doing it to just keep them on the road, it's an improvement as well, depending on parts selected..
If $12 to $15K is what you can afford ?? Then sure buy one..
BUT don't thrash or modify it. Then complain about it breaking down..
Same can happen to a far newer car anyway..
There is a difference between sporty driving and abusive thrashing...

IIRC bushes and ball joints are the same spec across the board. Only real difference is spring rates, installed spring heights and shock specs (rebound and compression damping) as well as wheel alignment details.

Anyone want to lend me an example of one that has 300,000+km on the clock for an honest comparison. I regularly drive a high km BFmkII and low km BAmkII XT so I think I am qualified to give a fair verdict.
