Hey guys im looking at buying a turbo to use on my EF I6 i do have large plans on this car.
What size turbo would i be looking for? i thinking a t4 but and ball bearing what size Compressor and Turbine do you guys recommend i've just purchased all the piping and gear and make turbo manifold for my engine just i need the turbo to work out where to locate the turbo flange and run the piping Cheer, jason

All depends on how much power you want it to go. Personally if I had the money I'd use a turbonetics turbo just to be different as everyone is using Garetts.
As for turbo sizing I'm not qualified to comment on that for the time being but if you hang on for a few mins you'll get the replies your looking for. |

T04 Z all the way... 800 h.p turbo ball bearing etc....
It's different to old T04's in hat it has new designed housings... With .84 housing they spool nice....

.84 is turbine housing.
The rear housing doesnt determine size. My 1000hp GT51R has a 1.05 rear housing and my smaller 700hp 3540 has a 1.06 rear. |

Yes generally the bigger the turbo size, the lower A.R can be used.. For insatnce a 1.06 on a T70 would be way large ....Thats if manufacterers make them in various sizes...

.60 - T COMPRESSOR WHEEL
1.05 A/R TURBINE HOUSING COMPRESSOR HOUSING A/R .60 TO4E EXHAUST 1.06 / .60 COMPRESSOR yer it external gated and oil cooled garrett ball bearing before any of you guys try shooting my head off that good? looking at a turbo a mate got he just sent me this info

Usually ball bearing turbos are water cooled as well. |

yer thats the same aint it so you don't trust it
but it meets all spec's ill have to see if i can get that one of ebay first i get it cheaper give me extra $$$ to put towards the machining of the manifold flanges after all welded up or wastegate

actually now that it comes to mind is there any turbo car around that have a good turbo on them that would work well? i might buy a tempary turbo to make the manifold and run for a few weeks then i install the good one(Garrett) and new computer(MSII) and injectors and fuel pump and fuel reg etc
like skyline 300zx supra s15 ford holden(maybe not holden it might stop holden together) lol toyota nissan BMW etc LOL id say skyline, supra 300zx turbos to small? they spool up to early? cheers
