Go to local Pirtek or Earles [$$$] You only need small oil lines..Water cooled helps heaps in keeping oil in Cartridge cool or to stop it from C**k when very hot..There is no need to run turbo timers with water cooled housings..
Pay attention to runing oil return line to sump no smaller than 14mm and basically facing down the whole way, any restriction and the foamy oil backs up and leaks through turbo seals...Inlet [oil] should be at top ...
One of the main issues with std comp is timing and fuel supply lowering comp to approx 8.8 makes safe for boost but MUST run at 2* advance @ idle not the usuall 10*....

Im no expert on this stuff but your boost controller bleeds air off between the comp housing and wastegate actuator,

I bought the oil lines at Pyrtec or enzed ( dont remember as it was such a tidious task! ) but you can buy kits made up that you just cut to size. Usually around the 200 mark which is a good price, XTR make them ( GCG ) and Ive seen them avail from horsepowerinabox.com made for garret.

As mentioned above, oil drain needs to be large, Im using 18mm silicon hose from GCG and XTR fittings. On a side not, the silicon hose burns if touching the manifold.

Simple brake line will do the same job..
Braid is more flexable though...

Righto i'm looking at buying the oil feed/drain flanges (didnt come with) and the water cooling "bits".

With the oil feed which of the following would be suitable for hooking upto stainless steel braid?

One thing with the oil feed that i did notice, was that my oil feed hole (ie between the 2 bolt holes) is threaded.. do i need the flange at all or would something like this:

I found a source for the steel line.. local brake/exhaust shop can do it. I'm just gonna use steel line for the oil feed and the drain.. about $10/foot for 1/4".

can i even connect braided steel line to that?? the feed is JIC -6 while the drain isn't even threaded?

This stuff is really confusing, just to work out the correct bits to hook upto this turbo. Anyone care to advise?

Also what's the go with my turbos internal wastegate/actuator. Is it set at a certain boost pressure? I see in your DIY thread chef, you mentioned that the engineer didnt want to see an adjustable regulator. When i have the boost controller in i'm gonna have it turns all the way down (obviously :-P).

So if my actuator is set at a predetermined boost pressure how do i "turn it down" - or will my adjustable do and just take it off when i get around to engineer certificate (once i get the turbo in that is :P)

EBXR8380 you have posted some information gained from some research you have undertaken on the debate/conversation. I take no offense at that. I do take offense when a noobhead argues for the fact that he/she think they are right and will not listen to your information and then starts getting personal (like a certain person *cough maxxr6* that couldn't even applogise even via pm).

Although I still stand on that "GT" is Garrett's new turbo range.

Word of advice for hoses to all, check prices from a few of your local outfits before going to Pirtek or especially Enzed. Enzed I have found is about virtually double on all stocks from what I can get from my local non-mobile supplier.

Silicone hose is not supposed to be used for fuel or oil, it will swell and eventually rupture. $165/m is rediculous unless its 24ct gold plated. There are synthetic oil hoses that will do the job OK, but for a oil feed stainless braid is the best if you don't mind stainless splinters in your fingers :(

The silicon hose I use for return line was sold to me by GCG as oil and fuel line, Ive done around 10ooo kays (2600 in 3days) and no dramas. But yeah, maybe SOME other types of silicon hose are not for oil and fuel.

Glen, the engineer didnt want to see a user adustable boost controller, dont know why, didnt ask as I dont use one. I told him the external gate used was fitted with a 10psi spring, he test drove it and was happy.

As for adjusting an internal wastegate... you will see a long threaded bar joing the accuator to the wastegate flap, you can adjsut the boost by turning this theaded section in/ out but this wont give a huge range, more so a few psi up/down. Most users leave this set as is, and use either a manual boost controller or elec boost controller hooked up to the vac line going into the wastegates accualtor. These will only make the boost increase beyond the accuators max, usually 8 or so psi.

Those XTR fittings are what I use on the T4, oil feed is the first one there, the larger flowing fitting.

Aircon... yep, thats still works. I had to mod the canister braket, basically hammered it flat and bent it so it would sit close to the aircon core, slightly adjsuted the aircon pipes too... delicate bending.
There's accually plenty of room between intercooler and aircon core, I have two trans oil coolers mounted down there too, and soon to be a pair of slim thermo fans for the intercooler/oil coolers.

kinda on the back burner at the moment. Concentrating on the mega squirt II (which im yet to recieve).

Still pushing my gf's bro to sort out my exhaust flanges. Once they're done im gonna buy the oil feed/drain from gcg.

But yeah at the moment i'm really just getting the ECU side of things handled!
