$3k is deffinately possible if you know how to weld.

How long did your motor pull up before probs started happening?

Is it possible ot whack a turbo on a stock I6 low boost and have it running reliable?

first motor only lasted a few months, but it wasnt really a turbo related issue.
i drove it very hard and let it idle for a while before it turned off... oil pressure at idle at the time was near 0 so it damaged a bearing.

i kept driving it with the stuffed bearing for a while longer with no issues.
I think the motor would have lasted ages as it had shown no issues.

stock motor + 6psi can easily be done reliably aslong as its got a decent tune on it, even 10psi can be done reliably.
even a stock motor can show signs of 'problems' if treated wrong.
