hi all....
forgive me if this is a repeated thread - i did a quick search and couldnt find anything on it. im thinking about buying an xr6t BA in the next few months - however i was told the fuel economy averages 14-15lt / 100km and can even average up to 18lt / 100km. Is this right??? i know economy with a turbo varies with driving style but an average of 15lt / 100km seems a bit high. just wondering what economy you guys are averaging? are non turbo xr6's much better. cheers. |

The old mans Turbo gets about 11-12l/100km.
Better then my ED 'mont... He must drive like a grandma whenever I'm not in the car.... 15l/100km sounds pretty extreme...

my bf turbo is on 17 at the moment. Not sure why it is so high, but people i know with BA turbos say it sits around the 12 or 13 mark for them, most of them dont drive it very hard either. The ute of mine is slowly coming down though. Believe me buy an xr6 turbo, forget about fuel and think about the enjoyment.

i got 666km to 65 litres is that 10 per 100km, and that was 110 on freeway for 500km and the rest was in town not bad for a ef xr6 that just clicked 200 000 lol

It does depend on how you drive it, Motor magazine reportedly got over 24L/100 while they thrashed it at a test track.

I do a fair bit off driving, about 55,000 km a year. Drive it hard and the economy is as posted above. General driving will get you about 480 - 500km per tank. Push it and you will only get 380-400km per tank. Drive economically different story. Open road, went to Sydney for christmas, 660km for 61 litres. Who would complain about that. I would have been happy with 600km.
As previously posted, don't worry about fuel economy and enjoy being thrown back in your seat when you put your foot down. When I take my missus AU out for a spin, I feel as though I'm not going anywhere. Get back into my XR6T and it heaven. Go and get that turbo..!!!! You won't regret it..!!! |

Would you consider purchasing a nat atmo XR6 over a T if the consumption difference was 4-6L per 100 kays??? |

if you want fuel economy buy a deawoo.
if you want performance get the xr6t. you cant have both, power and economy dont exactly go hand in hand.

XR6T fuel economy is crap. It has 240kw. Who gives a toss about fuel economy with 240kw on tap
