The only way when mine has been checked was on dyno.. There is a fuel pressure guage on fuel reg..
At 3/4 through power run the fuel pressure dipped.. This is a prime example of pump not keeping up.. It depends on your power level etc ??.. In most cases its the fuel FILTER that requires changing..

Yea oh cool.
I have checked my fuel filter and it didnt seem to be blocked, it seems to flow fine. I might just replace it anyway. Yea i think i might be at the end of the fuel pumps life, i mean i have 306rwkw on the standard pump, i think it has been on its way out for a while though. I am just trying to find out because my car has a bit of a miss in 2nd gear under heavy load ie at like 70-80km's and full throttle. It doesnt miss in anyother gear, it has brand new plugs, i have swapped the coil packs over with a mate (BA MkII XR6T) and it still does it, as i said i have checked the fuel filter so the last thing i can think of is the Fuel Pump....... anyone have anyother idea I might have to put it back on the dyno to check, its just that i would have thought that if the fuel pump was going to drop out it would more likely be in 3rd or 4th in the top of the rev range rather then mid range of 2nd

You could fit an electronic pressure gauge and check it while driving..would save money on the dyno

Try closing your plug gap alittle or check ??
On blown engines the spark blows out at the rpm your saying.. .8 mm To check pump properly ? I guess measuring how much it flows at 3 bar pressure over time ??.. A wide band will tell you instantly if it runs lean.. What size injectors?? They could be your issue?? Is boost stable ?? Its not over boosting and EEC is stopping ignition ??

just buy a walbro intank, they're only about $180 for a GSS 340 or GSS 341 plus install unless you do it yourself...
for the sake of <$200 it may save you a motor...

Sorry folks, but the only way to do this PROPERLY is to hook up a pressure and flow gauge.

Whats your reasoning for using a pressure AND flow gauge? The way I see it, if the fuel pump cant keep up then the pressure will drop... |

yea im guna buy a in tank one anyway
They are brand new plugs and CV performance put them in when they where tuning it so they should have closed the gap.... they had f**k better of anyway. I might check it anyway

Take it to a decent shop and they will have a pressure and flow gauge. There may be a blockage that gives pressure but no flow. May be running C/C injectors with a tune and then will have big flow with low pressure. I respect you view point though. |

I have the 60Lb seimens ones... i have recently been told these arent that good but i have also been told that they are really good so yea. I have checked the fuel filter and all the coil packs and they are all fine so i am think the fuel pump. I will take it to my mate at Gen Tech and get him to have a look/put it on the dyno and hopefully find out what is wrong with it I respect you view point though.
