I have being doing some looking into induction systems on the BA XR6T. I have found that ford have only listed the standard 6 cylinder intake snorkel as a part for the XR6T also. I have argued black and blue with our parts guy at work that this isnt the case as the turbo variant has a larger snorkel, similar to earlier model XR snorkels (wider mouth). Mine is on a ute and has the standard snorkel fitted which creates one hell of a noise when you stick the boot into it. this is obviously creating an air intake restriction adn hence reducing power output. Just wondering if anybody has a ute or sedan with the standard 6 snorkel in place of the wider one.

Yes you can buy a bigger snorkel. The XR6T does have a bigger mouth and pipe leading to the airbox. It about the same size as an AU3 XR8 snorkel. Check out the cars in the dealership and point it out to your spare parts guy.

Yeah the ba xr6t definantly gets a bigger snorkle!
the typhoon runs two snorkles which anotehr one goes in the bootm half of thr airbox and sucks in air from behind the headlamp like the XR8. They are about $90 though and you need to cut a hole in your air box to fit it! If you have trouble getting one email sales@ftgautosalvage.com.au and Darren can get them in!

The boss 260 also has the option of a bigger snorkel, similar to the barra 240..

if you don't wanna spend 450 on an SS induction, or cut a hole in you airbox, just buy the typhoon airbox from a ford parts center for about $280
