Hey guys, first post.
I own a BF XR6T and recently purchased the earl's oil line kit to replace the factory line. I can see where it is supposed to go and how to hook it all up, but don't have much experience doing this sort of thing.. Yet. Basically, I am wondering if anyone has done a write up with pics of how to do this? There is a guide to cleaning the filter on the fordxr6turbo forums but it think that's for an Fg. The instructions that came with the parts say to reuse the banjo bolt on the engine side, which I understand has the factory filter in it. So apparently I need some circlip pliers (internal?) to remove that.. Or a screwdriver if I listen to that other guide. Also says I need some Sealant like loctite 567. Being kind of new to this area, where would I get the Sealant and how would I use it properly so as not to get leaks or exploded turbo? |

i have bought the same kit .i have removed the old line already .it was easy for me due to i have removed engine from car (engine transplant ) the only problem i had was removing the tiny little filter without a cir clip remover .real tinny would not know where to buy one that size .maybe jaycar .i am going to take some pictures for you .mine has got a aftermarket oil sensor on it so it would be different .locktide is easy to use does not mater if you use to much of it just wipe it of after assembling .it has to dry for 24 hours to cure properly

the turbo side will be easy .but the side under the intake manifold will be a tight squeeze .i used a long 24 mm socket to undo all the nut parts .and used a shifter to undo the t piece with the sensors on it . i could only find this locktide at my local repco and they replied this would be fine (i hope so ) hope these photos help .i am no mechanic ,only a glacier so i can only give you my advise and what i have done .best of luck getting it apart and back together .there is only one way to learn mate
{DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} the last photo is the filter you will have to remove .i used a very small screw driver ,i just about gave up and then it fell out there are smarter people on this web site that may have a easier way of doing this ,they may help you out even more than i can |

Thanks mate, sorry for late reply.
Those pics are really helpful, when I get around to doing this I think I will do a write up with pics so that this is documented properly for others, hard to find info and pics :/ I agree, there is only one way to learn which is why I am determined to DIY instead of mechanic. Oh ok so loctite is pretty much like teflon tape for threads, used to seal and hold it in place? |

locktide is like using a nylon nut that does not rattle loose from vibrations .thread tape can have little bits fall of and get clog up holes and course blockages

I used a pair of long nose pliers with the ends ground down to sharp points for the filter circlip, worked perfect.

My factory filter was actually a little longer than some (my brothers Mk2) so the circlip wasn't too deep in the fitting. The pliers are maybe slightly smaller than most but were already a proper pair of needle nose (longer and skinnier than what I usually see) before they were modified.
