we have been busy designing and making this bolt on plenum top to suit xr6t/typhoon.. made from 3mm sheet alloy, with an 8mm base plate, all tig welded. only required mods are longer throttle wiring (and some bending of the a/c pipe).. plenum volume is roughly 7L, supplied with all stainless bolts, ideal for anyone wanting to shorten their intake piping.

this may even fit back to an ef, but not sure yet

we will be selling these for $650, and will be fully polished

cheers, brad

hi, yea, postage wouldnt be a problem.

since this one isnt actually 100% finished, just have to mount the vaccumn fitting and map sensor, it will be a day or so before this is done. once we have a complete item, we can then reproduce it, which id guess would be about a week away.

cheers, brad

i will look into fitting it to an ef asap... i think the plenum may be a tad too wide to fit an ef though, possibly may be able to make a skinnier version or something

manifold is made from scratch, heres an inside shot.. you will notice the bits welded on inside, this is because to make the plenum volume as big as we wanted, meant we had to have the bolts inside the box.. so what we came up with to avoid any permanent mods to the original lower half is to use 6mm bolts into stainless helicoil thread inserts so we added some thickness in this area

all though i can't speak for ebs, i see no real reason why not.

All the bolt holes would line up and an EB, ED throttle cable could be used to reach.

only based on seeing the nizpro plenum fitted to an EF

thanks guys, im glad you think it looks ok, im very impressed with the way its turned out..

i only did this project becuase i was approached by another lad who was looking to replace his std plenum, had priced a nizpro one, and thought he would rather help support us as he is a local to me.. we were up to the challenge no worries, and could see the potential in a EXTREMELY well priced bolt on ba plenum

i looked at an ef at work the other day, it was prior to tacking this together and a proper trial fit, but from what i saw, this would go very close to an earlier model strut tower... like i proposed before, i may need to make a thinner one, since there seems to be a fair bit of interest in the ef-el model more so than BA. mostly since thats all we can afford

another issue with the ef-el, is from memory there is a nice big a/c hose running right along side the manifold, it wasnt a problem with the ba as a bit of tweaking of the alloy pipe has given ample room

a few of you guys on here have asked me before when i would start making other plenums, to make one like is on my own car is a hell of a lot of work/stuffing around, and would just end up being too expensive for the average person to buy, but with this bolt on type, it is a lot more simpler..

i have a mate who wants one for his ef, so the opportunity is there for me to fabricate one to suit

The plenum on your car looks awesome here (about halfway down the page) http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21242. The main the reason I would get one made is just for the shiny factor. 8-) Nizpro have got nothing on yours IMO.

If the ones your are thinking about selling for the EF/EL end up looking like this I'll be rapt!
