I was at oran park yesterday, and at the end of the day, they let us have a bit of fun down the main straight.

DYING to test out my new GTech (a bargain for $51 on ebay) I did a few 0 - 100's

The first run I did (with my mate Brad in the car) I spun the wheels all through 1st and 2nd, and finally got traction all in 3rd. I was pissing myself laughing the whole time, and got a 7.5sec

2nd run - wheel spin through 1st, got traction in 2nd 6.5

3rd run - wheel spin sideways all through 1st and 2nd... 7.3

4th and 5th run were pretty much the same, and got mid to high 6's.

OK, so my question - what is a good time?? I am gonna try and do it properly next time (I was just having way too much fun to try it seriously)

Oh, and one of the guys got it all on video too... he is gonna burn it to DVD and give me a copy.

:D :D

My little ute does ~6.20 seconds 0-60mph, according to GTech on my private test track. Not sure how close to real numbers that is?

PB at the track is 14.5, and recent dyno day it made 160 at the wheels.

NA2 - I got a little more power than a stock BA or LS1

Kiwi - yeah... traction school.. hahahaha... stuff that - lets get out on the skid pan at the creek !!!

Oh - and those times were done with 50psi in the tyres too, cos it was straight after racing, and I couldnt be bothered dropping the pressure.

Could be the answer right there.
0-100 times are a bit iffy too, depends too much on variables to give a really accurate measure of performance IMO.

The auto makes it heaps easier. My best 60foot time is 1.8, so how does your XR compare. My PB 1/4 time is as quoted in my signature. I do have wheelspin probs atm. Anyone got a set of drag TA's they would be willing to sell

hehehehe.

Actually when I went to do my first run I was preparing to launching, and held the revs at 2grant. Brad was saying "give it more revs"
I was thinking.. umm?? But hey... he is a professional driver.

So I got it up to 3 grand

Brad "cmon - more revs"

so I launched at 3500

car was sideways and at 6000rpm in no time. Slammed 2nd - still sideways, and very quickly at 6000rpm again.

After I finished, and was driving around the track to the beginning of the straight again brad goes "I am impressed", I say "what... I ran a 7.5??" and he replies "no - the fact it spun all the way through 2nd"
