1800rpm @ 200ks sure doesn't sound right, not to mention 200k on the road...

wow, that's the funniest load of bull s**t ever spun... sorry.. there is no mathematical way a au220 can do 200kmh at 1800 rpm. with the gearing readily available...

mine does 2100rpm at 100kmh in 5th a long way from 200kmh at 1800rpm...

What revs is yours at 200kph ?

Mine was ~4250rpm. 5750rpm was 260kmh.

never had it that fast, I live in a built up area and there is no where to get that speed around here without killing something..

Id be interested to find out how it does go though... If you ever got the opportunity.
I was also pretty impressed how stable it was too, wasnt floating on the road etc...

A guy on a building site once told me his EB with a 351 in it was doing 1200 rpm at a hundred miles an hour because it was so powerful.

A quick bit of mental calculation figured his diff was in overdrive.

I am hoping for more bottom end in mine. I am looking at going alloy heads with a decent cam and all the other basic mods and then maybe a standalone ecu and tune.

Sorry, I know its prob a dumb question, but whats this "stand alone ecu", why/whats it do etc?
I dont know much past old school type eng modding...

Its just a aftermarket ECU which replaces the factory one. With the factory ECU you are limited in terms of the amount of parameters you can map. By going after market ECU you have more control.

Wrong.

What would be the most the factory/stock ecu could handle without a hissy?
Could it control a 347 for instance? A 351?
Would you whack a J3 in there or something with a tune to get around it, or is this an example of when a stand alone ecu comes into play?

Where in melbourne would be the recomended place to get this done?

And, again, is mick webb/SVO still going? How does he rate these days?

Over here we have an EBGT running a 351W stroked to 418ci, running AFR 205s Victor 5.8 intake & a 242°/249° cam. Tuned with a Quarterhorse the factory EEC IV handles this fairly radical combo easily. Made 442rwhp @5800rpm, and you can lope along at 1500rpm without issues.

Now that sounds tuff, good looking cars them too... Lucky bstrd lol.
They've changed the laws over here, again, and now its basically drive a prius or get a fine... 1 not-so-"legal" mod and cars off the road with a yellow sticker... Sucks...

How do you find your tickford? Is yours a 347 or whatever, or is that just the T3s?
Always loved them...

Details for mine are in my signature, just the 200kw 5.0L albeit with some improvements on the way... As for the car itself I love it, though it is starting to show its 14 years now.

With correct selection of parts and tuned correctly there is no reason you couldn't have a similar combination to the EB and pass emissions testing.

I spose its also being honest and taking into account what the car REALLY gets used for too...
One of my mates has a 69? Camaro ss, 454 worked... Take foot off clutch and this thing just tows itself along at 60k, fries rubber in any gear!
Not really great for the peak hr commute everyday I guess...

What are your plans with the tickford?
