i have 3 ecu's and 2 TCM's the ecu's are NF V8 auto and EF Fairmont V8 auto and EF XR v8 auto tried all dont make a difference. tried a 91DA TCM shift light stays on 2 wont change. tried a 94DA TCM shift light selects correct light for about 2sec then goes back to D and stays there.
im thinking the loom is the issue as it was cut and i resoldered it but it might have a break somewere that i have no spoted trying to find a EF-NF V8 ECU loom then go from there |

The self test WILL see broken circuits. It even has a wiggle test to pick up breaks in wiring/connectors etc. I'm not suggesting it's the be all and end all for diagnostics but it can eliminate a few basic problems that are likely to occur with this sort of swap. I certainly wouldn't take it to someone for them to do it. Just use a multimeter or a Led and do it yourself.

Well Toowoomba Auto Repairs didnt find it and continued to deny everything . Getting a pic up to show all what to look for. Telltale is blackening of the pins closest to the middle. Opening the box you will see the main loom from the plug totally burnt out.
