Don't know if this will be much help but I haven't heard anything about pushrod issues and I am installing a Trickflow Trackheat S1 cam into an EL with GT40P heads and 1.7 roller rockers, basically EL GT or FBT spec and a slightly wilder cam.
The cam I am going for is a bit crazier than the 2031, but from what I hear you will have to consider going for double valve springs as the 2031 will kill standard springs. Also consider 1.7 roller rockers for extra power. |

It can vary but the 2031 generally does need longer pushrods, the TFS1 often does too. From memory you will be looking at 40-50th longer pushrods but as I said it can vary from engine to engine.

The Sprint already has 1.7 rockers.. Though not as good as the Y.T shaft series...I most cases the heads are machined so longer p.r are not required...Just double check preload though .. Don't just bolt them in....
Double springs... YES !!!

Are different length push rods an issue if installing the Crane 2030 and matching 1.6 ratio rr's into our Windsors? Are there any other items that need to be changed at the same time as a cam package went in?

Yes you are in the same situation with the 2030, but you won't know until you assemble the valvetrain and check for preload and alignment. To do a cam swap properly you will need the cam and matching springs and retainers, a new timing chain, a rocker shim kit and possibly different sized pushrods. |

Yep, same story with the Crane 2030. Ideally you would fit it all up and measure the reqd pushrod length, order your new pushrods, then fit it all back up... I just bought the adjustable YT 1.6:1 RR's instead. The only problem with that is you will have rocker cover clearance problems. I modified my covers with a hammer, and fitted two sets of gaskets. They clear OK. |

when I installed 2031 & YT 1.7 rr in ED needed 50 thou longer rods.
Must use double springs - I used comp sprngs. Dont guess, borrow measuring push rod and make sure. Check PV clearance if using TE50 GT40P's Richie.

The spring kit that Crane recommend for the 2030 are single 'conical' springs.
I am running these as well. Not really the best spring out there, but the fit easy without any machining, and rev fine to 5800rpm rev limiter... |

I checked and tested the recommended crane springs and they werent much chop. The doubles help with any harmonics.
I am using Compcam springs #978-16 with crane 2031. They are doubles with damper. 126lb @1.850" to 368lb @ 1.250". Richie.

I ended up with Compcam springs #978-16 specs are 126lb@1.85 and 368lb@1.250. Richie.
