Just threw on a Weiiand Xcelerator manifold and a 650HP Double pumper on the ute. I have a problem, however, with the front and rear cork manifold gaskets. They seem to squeeze out from under the manifold when I tighten it down. It is out enough so that oil will definitely leak out.
Anyone else ever had a similar problem? IT is a standard gasket kit, and I used 3bond for manifold to heads. Does a felpro gasket kit use similar cork gaskets? or maybe some sort of rubber? Cheers, Matt

The cork gaskets have an adhesive side, to stick to the block. Alternatively stick them onto the block with contact glue (kwik grip)
Make sure you put a decent sized drop of RTV silicon in the corners of the cork gasket, where it meets the head. Then it shouldnt move when you fit the manifold. The other alternative is leave the cork out, and just use RTV silicon to seal the manifold to the block, a lot of clevo owners are doing this now. I still prefer to use the cork. |

RTV the block side before putting the cork gasket on. Then let the cork gasket and RTV dry. RTV the corners and use a little to hold the gaskets to the cyl heads. Bolt the manifold down.
