A 115 degree thermostat would have to have one hell of system to contain that temperature without boiling...

It wasn't opening at 115, meaning it's not functioning. Since thermostat was done a few months ago, found a new mechanic who does performance cars and is really good. He called and told me what it was so I asked him to order a 92 degree one, which he put in and now running between 1/4-1/2 on temp gauge, sitting in traffic. It's still too hot for me so getting new tank put in it too. I've asked to keep the s**t one so I can use it as a tool to get my crapload of money back from previous retard.

Oh I see, I misread your post. Bit dodgy to have it stuff up so quick? Hope they pay you back but they'll probably make you fight for it.

Was probably cheap and nasty. I'll find out soon enough I guess! They'll give me what they owe me I'm sure I'm just grateful I have a good guy now who doesn't treat me like other mechanics do, like a dumb Sheila... Coz I'm far from that.

Good move on the 92 degree tstat. Colder ones just wear out your engine too quick.
I had a brand new thermostat stay closed on a new cleveland once so it does happen. |

Thanks. Also getting a new tank and cap since the other wasn't holding pressure, due to cross threading on the tank that's in it. Goodness me some people need a bullet for such stupidity. Hoping this seemingly lengthy process of running hot hasn't caused too many other not-yet-seen issues that may come up.

It's always run at just over a quarter
