Should be more than three. What engine? What balancer?

I've got 0 degrees, 10 degrees, 20 degrees and 30 degrees, with marks at 2 degree increments.

Thats on the harmonic balancer of an EL V8. Mine was on zero, and I advanced it to 23 degrees - much more power and better economy. Even at 10 degrees it was better, but at 30-32 it ran too hot and poor performance/pinging on petrol.

Ok well base timing is to be set at 30deg. You must put it into self test mode and you have two minutes to set the timing. Are you doing this?

Sea level base spark is the same but WOT spk vs rpm,Altitude spark,ECT spark, and Lugging spark maps are different and of course the auto has torque truncation in reverse gear if load is 75% or greater.
