i have a fuel injected windsor. i was thinking of putting in a 347 stroker crank, but i got thinking: will the crank/rods/pistons from a 351 windsor fit in the 302? ie are the engine blocks the same? I got the idea from the EB GT 351 prototype. does anybody know of some one who has done this conversion if it is possible?

Hi, no theyre not the same. You will need a 347 stroker crank, rods and pistons to suit the 302 block.

You could machine your 302w to accept the 4MA 351c crank, but i've been told the machining costs would be around $1500-2000.

thanks for that help, i am trying to get some budget performace, and thought that the 351w crank would slot straight in and be cheaper then the 347 crank, but apparently not. if i buy a 347 crank would i be able to use the 302 rods and pistons or will the compression be to high?

Nope, you MUST use 347 crank, rods and pistons.

The full kit can be had for around $2500.

Budget and Performance dont belong in the same sentance! :)

Stroking is an expensive way to go but it's one of few ways to really get the little windsor above 250kw
