Hey everyone....i have a 1990 EA Fairmont Ghia 5 speed manual and i was wondering if a 302 windsor motor will fit straight in with minimal mods? Also if i drop it in, will i have to get an engineers cert for it?

and can anyone tell me if its a good idea seeing is that i only have this car and i have about 3 grand to spend and i thought dropping a 302 windsor will give me the extra power i need?

THanks

I'm pretty sure you will need an engineers certificate as EA's did not come with V8's from factory

They are not a very powerful engine stock, depends what extra power you need or want

It won't bolt into an EA and just go. I reckon 3k would be better spend on the six then a V8 conversion, or better yet save some more money and go for an EF/EL XR8 or something further down the track.
