thinking about purchasing an eagle 347 stroker kit but firstly i have a few questions. My AU1 xr8 if stock minus the extractors, exhaust and CAI. wil a stroker kit still be ok with the stock top end components? Also does anyone north QLD way know what a rough price having the rebuild done would be?

Top end will be done eventually but car has alot of klms so im gonna work my way up a i get money.

At your age not happy with an AU XR8? lol..

Anyway, first you need a lot of money..

Stroker will be fine with the current components, obviously better with aftermarket. The kit itself won't cost too much, however the rebuild will. The block requires a lot of clearancing for one, on top of that the cost of the actual rebuild. Lot of $ dude. Doing the top end may be better for a start.

very true stroker kit would be one of the last mods id do. nothing wrong with 5 lts.
spend some money on chip intake throttle body head work and that will give u alot of extra power.
have seen some great power from a au xr8 with twin throttle's intake with chip

car has 238k klms, almost all highway klms but it'd be due for a rebuild soon. other wise i'd spend my money elsewhere

unless theres a problem im sure the bottom end will be fine, not that many km's.
if u where to put a stroker kit on it, and keep the same intake, the engine would be starving for air, it would be really restrictive, u would be way better off doing what i metioned before stroking it.

238 is not that much for these motors.. Unless it has been treated badly. If it needs a rebuild anyway, then go for it, but get quotes on the rebuild first, then quotes for the rebuild + clearancing + installing the new components. If you can afford it, then by all means.

how much would the clearancing and installation of new components roughly cost you think?

Gess are you guys commenting on facts???

It depends on what rods you use...
Eagle H beams need more clearance..But with I beam's the bolt is alittle further towars centre of rod..Anyway it only needs clearancing at the bottom of the bores..Nowhere else other than normal engine clearancing...
Being a 200kw motor it will have GT40 p heads, and Explorer type inlet which BTW Ford used the top end inlet on 351's the bottom 351's are only wider..Yes latter port thse P heads and fit a Edelbrock RPM ll..Crane 2031 cam ,good double springs and you'll be around 240 rwkw...You should already have 70mm maf and atleast 65mm throttle body...

Talk to your local machinist shop, look in yellow pages...

Here check this assembly...
