Even using standard crank and rods and a set of AFR205cc heads with a decent cam and compression to suit you will make 400hp with ease, and thats good power for a street car and alot of fun

Quite right mickyyyy!
The point is that even if you make the same power as a 347 a 393 will make more torque and power from idle all the way to the point of peak power. So while the 347 is still accelerating you've already walked away from it. Remember; Peak power figures = meaningless drivel Average power and torque figures = real performance! |

There was a guy selling a brand new 351 windsor crank for $250.00 on ebay so add H beam rods and SRP pistons and 11.1 or a little up with AFR 205cc heads and a nice hydrolic roller cam and make just over 500hp and be a super reliable engine

Yea thinking about the purpose of the car, Im not a hilly person..
I want her to be a, 'oh eat my dust' at the lights kind of car.. I want straight line and enough to have some fun out on the pad and light up the tyres.. Dam all these choices, getting a headache trying to decide which road to go down with the beast.. Other than sourcing GT40P heads, which would be a hassle with extracters, where would I source heads from? How much? and best suited for 347 stoked? I think Im going to go for a reliable less fuel consuming: 347 Stroked, Mild Cam, Roller Rockers etc with 2 - 2 1/2 Stall... (what ive been talking bout with a mate who built his own engine amongst others).. Just dont know what heads to use.. For all that the bottom end would be fine? I wouldnt be pushing anything extreme. though if a Super charge it I'd have to upgrade wouldnt I... hmmm.... |

air flow research 185cc heads would b the best with a 347, i think they cost around $3000.

^^^ For less than another $2k more than those heads you could have it supercharged an on the road done. Of course you would need some more $$ if you haven't got the exhaust/extractors sorted out
