Hmm well personally I think you'd be much better off putting the money aside to build a dedicated supercharged engine later when you finally decide that's what you want... If you are planning a DART block with 4340 internals why strangle it with that top end? The bottom end will support over 650-700hp, and to build for a blown application will not cost much more (if any) than an N/A application, I don't see the point doing a compromise engine (low comp, lacking punch N/A and strangled by restrictive heads, cam & intake when blown)...
So I'd build a complete new engine afresh to suit forced induction.. Dart block 363ci 4340 rotating assembly AFR 205 or TFS R series heads, TFS Box R intake and a nice big whack of boost... You might want to upgrade the rest of the driveline as well!

To be realistic, you've got to work out exactly what you want to do with it and go from there. If you want to go down the Dart path, then keep compression up and if later down the track you decide to blow it, then it'll be a matter of stripping it down, swapping pistons and freshen her up at the same time.

Thanks guys.
I just thought if i was going to stroke the existing motor, for the same maony i could get a dart short block (and even a 363), and then when/if i decide to SC (kenne bell) i would reduce comp ratio by using thicker gasket (is this wise). or, as bottleup said, go the whole hog and build a dedicated SC motor complete with Kenne Bell. can I have some more money do you think the standard block, not stroked, would br OK for kenne bell SC? |

Comp can easily be reduced by getting bigger camber head or KB ur stock engine and have it all setup for Dart block engine in the future.

Mickyyyy has the best idea IMHO, fit the KB to the engine you have now, and then build a DART based 363 with heads and camshaft to suit the KB.

In case you haven't seen it before, here's a stock bottom end with Kenne Bell sitting on top of AFR 165s and E-303 cam. It's making a lazy 350rwhp at around 6 or 7psi on a Mainline dyno. I don't remember the torque figure, but it was huge. The build thread is here - http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11198359 Now I'm not going away to work for a while, we should be able to get it on the dyno again soon and see how it likes a bit of extra boost. Hopefully Jeff gets the water/meth injection system fixed so I can wind the timing up a bit, too. It'd be good to see another KB blown Windsor here in the West! Then you can take your time getting that other motor built.

well had a discussion with the missus last night about spending money on the P&J, but didn't go as well as I'd hoped Hope someone has a got bit out of the discussions though, and still a worthwhile venture if willing to spend the moola.
I am thinking of another angle. I know a bit of topic now, but what do you guys think of those AU XR8 raptor kits. I know they won't produce the same power as a KB, but the cost is right, easy to install, and would still give decent power increase for my needs. any thoughts? |

There's a bloke on Ford Forums named Craig who just recently installed one of these kits himself on his 220kw AU XR8. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11318098

Pete do you know if you can get a cam synchronizer to suit the 351 deck height? I'm considering a 440+ci Windsor for the TE, but I'd want to run the factory DIS system and this is the current stumbling block... Along with a decent set of headers.
