Didn't Ford Australia shoehorn a 351 into a EA back when the EA was released? I'd say you can and it might be just an inch or so greater deck height.

66 coupe has a 351 Clevo in an EA wagon... if thats any reassurance heh
im assuming EA's n ED's would have basically the same engine bay.

hehe, but he doesnt drive it on the street.

I assume its going to be a 351 roller block out of an Effie?

And why clevo heads?

With that you would need a custom Manifold, and thats just if your running a carby. If its efi than there is a bit more work.

Maybe a set of alloy heads on the windsor and you could end up using a efi manifold and she'd be cheaper.

Lotta options, lotta $$$

also wats a decent price to pay for a 351 windsor motor needing rebuild?

In the process of doing a 351W into and EB right now. Cleveland heads aren't a problem. Custom headers in either application are needed to do it right but if you use a trans with a right hand starter you can use X-series headers with minimal mods.
For the EB we're doing we have both XR-Y 351W Tri-Y headers and 5.0 type EB Pacemaker headers to try. The problem is with clearance of the left hand starter.
C heads on a 351W block will be 0.3" higher than on a C block but it's not enough of difference to cause any greater probs. I have already used CHI 185's which have raised exhaust ports on a C block with off the shelf headers and just got away with it in an XE body. So heightwise in an E-series will be in a similar boat. Generally you need to mod one pipe on an X-series Cleveland header for clearance around the steering shaft.
Weve also had trouble with the High energy sump which was supposed to have been made to suit E-series...the wings are too wide and hit the K-member.....they obviously have no idea!
Here's a link to the post about Ive started about it...
http://www.perthfalcons.com/index.php?s ... entry29625
BTW it will be legally fitted.
We are also doing a 460 into an ED Fairmont.

Pete.

Yep, that was a 351 from an F150 Lightning. Trouble is they used a poxy s**t on it. From memory they used the F-series front dress which is also a waste of effort...easier to use the front dress off a 5.0, that way no differences in accessories.
I know what you mean about those magazines...I never buy any mag that's in a plastic bag for that reason...it's usually a rehash.

LOL Now you can read the exact same articles from Street Fords in Extreme Fords and get the Street Fords rehash of the same crap turbo or something issues, they have become a joke, I like the videos, they keep my 2 and 3 year old girls quite for a while, well sort of

It is a pity they have to rehash the same stories for Extreme Fords out of old Street Fords, when the story about an event that was at least 6 months before the Street Fords issue was released, yep Street Fords is quick to get things published  , with most of the articles in both magazines being pretty pathetic (more advertorials than actually tech articles) it is hard to justify taking a lucky dip sealed magazine to find out the cars inside were not really interesting.

Come on someone, produce a decent Ford magazine which you wait for its release each month, not a showbag magazine.

There is a thread on Ford Forums Australia where a member fits a 351W to an EBII Fairmont. http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=1760
It is worth a read.

The only difference is accessories are wider apart and top of engine is approx 50 mm higher depending on inlet...Visual there's no difference, especially with 5.0 efi and accessory parts..
