Hi guys
Having major issues with my new rebuilt motor.. I have got my 351 clevo fully rebuilt but cant start it. Keeps backfiring as soon as u accelarate ever so slightly.. Got a funny feeling cam timing is out.... Heres the run down... 351 clevo 2v heads 4v valves 750 double pumper quickfuel carby Edelbrock air gap manifold with 2 inch spacer Crane gold roller rockers Trend pushrods Jp racing geardrives Crane f246 solid cam Ice ignition. Ignition is working fine.. all electrics have been checked. Carby has been tested too . It has to be internally.... I have dropped car off to engine builder but he has stuffed me around for 6 weeks. p****d me right off so I really want to to this myself.. Ive been told that I can check cam timing easy by pulling off rocker covers. Setting no1 cyl to tdc and checking another cylinder to see where rockers are sitting at but I cant remember what to look for... Does anyone have any info before I remove timing cover..

easiest way is to put the motor to TDC no1 compression, and see if the valves are rocking on no1 cylinder.
